The United Nations system has an important supportive role to play for the achievement of the MDGs. Since 2000, CEB has worked to ensure a coordinated UN system approach to the Millennium Summit and its follow-up.

CEB Climate Change Action Framework

The overall objective of the CEB Climate Change Action Framework is to maximize existing synergies, eliminate duplication and overlap, and optimize the impact of the collective efforts of the UN system in supporting countries implementing strategies to address climate change.

Global Financial and Economic Crisis

CEB has taken special measures to promote a rapid United Nations system response to this crisis. The nine joint initiatives serve as a strategic framework for facilitating the UN system’s operational response in support of development strategies that address vulnerabilities caused or exacerbated by the global financial crisis.

CEB Champions Operations Management Skills Workshops

The United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC) recently held three workshops in Turin and Bangkok for 125 senior operations staff as part of HLCM's plan of action for the Harmonization of Business Practices.

Staff Safety and Security

Learn about the role of HLCM in redesigning and coordinating the new UN Security Management System, which brings together the United Nations agencies, funds and programmes under the leadership of the USG for Safety and Security.

Coordination between the CEB and other jointly financed bodies

The CEB continues its increasingly active and regular interactions with the Joint Inspection Unit and the International Civil Service Commission and seeks to strengthen its interactions and cooperation in various ways.
