The Best Linux 2000 Games CD is a unique collection of games which run under Linux.

This CD has 145 RPM packages with different games. It has famous games like Quake III, Quake II, Civilization, Doom, Hexen, Railroad Tycoon, old classic games like Tetris, Pacman and Chess, many different emulators for e.g. Sega, Spectrum and other good stuff. The CD has a complete HTML catalog supporting rpmfind and a unique keyword feature to help you to find what you are looking for. We have also included detailed instructions on how to configure your Linux so that you can easily install RPMs with your Web browser. Instructions are avaliable in multiple languages.

It often happens that after downloading games from the internet, you encounter problems such as not having the correct libraries for the game. So you search for the library on the internet, compile it, and then realise that THAT library requires some OTHER library... After a few hours of compiling, searching, compiling... you'd probably want to give up. With the games on this CD you shouldn't have any problems. Each game has been carefully checked and we have included all necessary libraries on the Games CD.

We have included on this CD demo versions of Quake III and Quake II, possibly the most popular games today. So now you can kill your friends who have Linux, Windows or Mac platforms. And if you come across someone who kills you every time you see him ... hmmm, it's probably someone from the Best Linux team. Of course you can play with bots if you want to raise your experience or if you have a bad internet connection. Anyway Quake is a great game and that's why we had to put it on this CD.
