Recognition of Examinations
Current waiting period: approx. 3 months
The indicated waiting period refers to how long you must wait after submitting your application documents before the Team Recognition is able to process your application.
After your application is processed by the Team Recognition Team it will be forwarded to the relevant subject represantative for a decision. You can find more information in the recognition process described on the main page.
Due to the high volume of emails, we do not answer status inquiries by email. If you have questions, please contact us by phone during our office hours or visit one of our in-person consultation sessions.
Before you contact us
Please read through our website and in particular our FAQ before contacting us.
When contacting us by telephone, please also have your Student ID number (if already registered at our university) ready.
Recognition explained in the video
This video is part of the series "Explanatory videos for starting your studies" and was created by the Central Student and Career Counselling Service as part of the Participate@UOL project.
Recognition of Examinations
You can submit an application for recognition if you
- have come to the University of Oldenburg from another place of study;
- have switched between programmes at the University of Oldenburg (e.g. your combination of subjects);
- have completed components abroad.
Please note that recognition can only take place after you have enrolled at the University of Oldenburg.
Note Service enquiry number
When you write to the Recognition team, you will automatically receive a reply with a service enquiry number in the subject line.
Background: We use a ticket system. Every new email without an existing number creates a new ticket, which can significantly delay the processing of your request.
After a rejection
In the event of a rejection that you have questions about or that you cannot understand, we recommend that you first contact the Recognition team in person during our office hours. We will be happy to explain the process and the decision made by the specialised representative body.
