Tropes:
- Actually Pretty Funny: At the end of each episode, the Circus Man eventually gives in to Stripy's antics and laughs along with him.
- The Cat Came Back: No matter how hard the Circus Man tries to get rid of Stripy, he just keeps coming back.
- Cartoon Creature: It's unclear what type of animal Stripy is supposed to be. Some sources say he's a cat, while others refer to him as a mouse.
- Character Title: Stripy revolves around the striped creature of the same name.
- Contagious Laughter: Stripy's laughter always eventually causes the other characters to laugh in the end.
- "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Every episode ends with Stripy, the Circus Man, and whatever creature accompanies them in the episode laughing uncontrollably.
- The Gadfly: Stripy loves messing with the Circus Man, simply to crack himself up.
- Gag Nose: Stripy has a long nose that can make party horn sounds.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: The Circus Man is very easily set off by Stripy.
- The Hyena: Stripy can never stop laughing, even if he tried. He can't even say his own name without breaking into hysterics.
- Jerkass: The Circus Man is a fat grouch who is constantly annoyed by Stripy's antics and will often beat him up for it. Not that Stripy is bothered by such.
- The Killjoy: The Circus Man does everything in his power to try and shut Stripy up, often to no avail.
- Meaningful Name: Stripy’s got stripes. Go figure.
- Mime and Music-Only Cartoon: The only sort of "dialogue" in the show is Stripy's laughter and the Circus Man's grumblings.
- Once per Episode: Near the end of each episode, the Circus Man will unintentionally hurt a creature, thinking they were an inanimate object, causing said creature to get angry at him.
- The Pollyanna: Stripy is always bursting with joy no matter what happens to him.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: The Circus Man's eyes are perpetually bloodshot, and he is not a pleasant guy in the slightest.
- Short-Runner: The show only lasted 13 episodes.
- Tension-Cutting Laughter: As the Circus Man is getting beaten up by an angry creature, them hearing Stripy's laughter causes the tension between the two to quickly break as they decide to make a truce and laugh with him.
- Unmoving Plaid: Stripy's stripes are always straight horizontal, no matter what position Stripy is in.
