A Chuck E. Cheese Christmas (Western Animation)

A Chuck E Cheese Christmas is a Christmas Special starring characters from Chuck E. Cheese where Chuck and his gang try to throw a surprise party for Santa Claus in an effort to raise everyone's Christmas spirit, which seems to be disappearing.

Tropes include:

  • Adaptational Personality Change:
    • Jasper is more of a Deadpan Snarker and a Straight Man to Chuck E. Cheese and the other characters than he was in the animatronic shows.
    • In the puppet shows, Bella likes gardening and also speaks in Gratuitous Spanish. In this special, she is more childlike and her main gimmick is Bunnies for Cuteness.
    • In the animatronic shows, Pasqually is part of Chuck's gang and is an aspiring comedian. In this special, he is not part of Chuck's gang (with Bella taking his place as the drummer) and simply owns the restaurant below Chuck's apartment, and is more of a Straight Man to Chuck and co's antics.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Bella, who is the smallest of the gang and is usually adored for her cuteness.
  • Backdoor Pilot: This special is meant to serve as the pilot for a Chuck E. Cheese animated series.
  • Big Eater: Like the animatronic shows, Munch is this, even going as far as to eat Christmas decorations.
  • Bunnies for Cuteness: Bella is normally seen as cute by the other characters. Sometimes she finds it annoying, while sometimes she weaponizes it.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Jasper is this when reacting to the gang's antics.
  • Furry Reminder: Helen talks to her father, who crows in the morning to wake the gang.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: A subplot of the special is Pasqually trying to find a secret recipe. Chuck tells him that the secret should come from his heart.
  • Heel–Face Turn:
    • Leggymos tries to ruin Christmas to give the elves freedom, but stops when he realizes that making toys for Christmas is the elves' true calling.
    • The Troll King that Leggymos and other elves defeated long ago to save the Earth is this, as it turns out Christmas made him nice. This is what sets the stone for Leggymos' Heel–Face Turn.
  • How Is That Even Possible?: Santa keeps hurting his knees, and somehow ends up counting three knees.
  • The Kids Are American: Bella's parents have Mexican accents, while Bella herself has an American accent.
  • Lions and Tigers and Humans... Oh, My!: The special's universe takes place in a world where humans, anthropomorphic animals, and even anthropomorphic fantasy creatures live together.
  • Non-Member in the Adaptation: In the original animatronic shows, Pasquali is the drummer of Chuck E.'s gang. In this special, Pasquali isn't part of Chuck E.'s gang, but is instead the owner of the restaurant that Chuck E. and his friends normally hang out at.
  • Our Elves Are Different: The elves in Santa's workshop also double as fantasy elves who defeated a troll king long ago.
  • Rodents of Unusual Size: Chuck E. Cheese is the size of a person. Somewhat lampshaded with Leggymos calls him a little mouse despite Leggymos being way shorter than Chuck.
  • Running Gag:
    • A person constantly dressing up as Santa has snow fall on them, causing kids to make him into a snowman.
    • Leggymos constantly lampshading how he ends up talking to himself.
  • Saving Christmas: The special's plot is about Chuck and the gang trying to raise everyone's Christmas spirit by throwing a party for Santa.
  • Stealth Insult: Bella's mother said Bella got her cuteness from her father's side of the family. Jasper comments it must have skipped a generation.
  • Surprise Party: Chuck and friends decide to throw a surprise party for Santa.
  • Talking to Themself: A Running Gag is Leggymos constantly monolouging his plans to himself, which even he lampshades is awkward.
  • Wham Shot: The person who dressed up as Santa is actually the troll king that Leggymos defeated long ago who underwent a Heel–Face Turn.
