The series takes place in a universe where Transformers is just a franchise of toys and fiction like the real world, the main characters being super-deformed versions of the cast of Beast Wars reimagined as Funny Animal salarymen who are die-hard fans of Transformers and go on misadventures where they attend fan conventions and encounter Transformers characters from every animated series, anime and manga that existed at the time.

Tropes:
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: The super-deformed Beast Wars cast don't wear anything aside from neckties.
- Adaptational Villainy: The Bonus Edition Vol. EX for Big Blue Convoy sees the titular character and his son attacked by a quartet of Blendtrons, all four of them being Fuzors from the original Beast Wars. While Buzzclaw and Terragator downplay this since they were already Predacons that were overall unpleasant, it's played completely straight for the Maximals Noctorro and Air Hammer who are now acting in service of Unicron.
- And Now for Someone Completely Different: The Bonus Edition Vol. EX for Big Blue Convoy features none of the usual writing style for a Legends story and none of its cast, instead acting as an Origins Episode for Big Convoy while working to reconcile the end of Beast Machines with that of the Japanese Beast Wars series.
- Apocalypse Maiden: Windblade's debut has her explain that she has arrived to destroy the Legends Universe, only for Metroplex to knock her out of the sky and her to forget her mission. When her memory returns, Windblade does not want to destroy the Legends Universe anymore because of the friends she made and asks Armada Starscream for help.
- Ascended Extra: Parodied. At the end of Skids' Bonus Edition comic, he looks up his other appearances in the Transformers multiverse and is shocked that he only got two lines in the entire 98-episode 80s cartoon.
- Decoy Protagonist: The titular "Big Blue Convoy" in the Bonus Edition Vol. EX is killed off before the story ends, his death serving to reveal the story was actually an Origins Episode for his son "Big Junior", who he rechristens as Big Convoy before he dies.
- Fanservice: In both senses. The comic is chock full of references and call-backs to previous works in the franchise, but it also tends to have the female cast in skimpy outfits or getting their clothes blown off.
- Fountain of Youth: Strip #52 has Shaoshao Li accidentally transformed into a baby due to a misfire from, well, Misfire.
- Full-Frontal Assault: Comes up in Bonus Edition Vol. 55, where Shaoshao Li, Sue Faireborne and White Lune get their armor destroyed by Slugslinger and are forced to take him down in the nude.
- Grand Finale: The "Epiloge" (sic) chapter serves as the conclusion to the series, with the Legends universe being reformed and the Transformers characters all being able to usher in an era of peace where they can use their technology to benefit progress for humanity.
- Intercontinuity Crossover: Transformers characters from the Generation 1 cartoon, Kiss Players, Transformers: ★Headmasters, Transformers: Super-God Masterforce, Transformers Victory, Beast Wars, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, Car Robots, the Unicron Trilogy, Transformers: Animated, Transformers: Prime and Transformers Adventure are featured in the comic, with their roles varying between mere cameos to actually being involved in the ongoing narrative.
- Interspecies Romance: Played for Laughs in LG19, where Tigratron summons several human and alien women to try to find one who would love him. Though they coo around him at first for being a cat, they eventually ignore him and start fawning over Springer, impressed by his Triple Changer abilities.
- Lazy Reptile: Invoked with the Decepticon Headmaster Skullcruncher, who transforms into an alligator. He begins spending most of his time asleep after exposure to Mindwipe's hypnotism caused him to develop chronic narcolepsy.
- Merchandise-Driven: Well, it is Transformers. The focus of each chapter is almost always the newest upcoming toy.
- Nostalgia Filter: Among the Transformers fans of the Axalon Shipping Company is Rhinox, who is convinced that everything from the 80s is better (probably as a dig at fans who reject everything after Generation One). After being turned into Tankor, Rhinox decides to turn everyone in the Legends Universe into 80s stuff.
- The Nudifier:
- Bonus Edition Vol. 45 (included with the figure of Hot Rod) has Shaoshao Li use the Master-Braces to become a Targetmaster (human who can transform into a gun for a Transformer). To her chagrin, her clothes disappear when she changes back. Hot Rod theorizes that the clothes were turned into energy to fuel the gun mode.
- Bonus Edition Vol. 49, the pack-in comic for the Legends figure of Triggerhappy, has Blowpipe use plasma energy to destroy the clothes of Ai, Minerva, Shaoshao Li and Papika.
- Bonus Edition Vol. 51 (included with the figure of Doublecross) had several humans get turned into apes. Their clothes are destroyed in the process, leaving them naked when they are changed back.
- In Bonus Edition Vol. 55, the pack-in comic for the Legends figure of Slugslinger, has Slugslinger attempt to use plasma energy on Shaoshao Li, Sue Faireborne and White Lune. Due to being organic, the three girls are unaffected by the plasma energy, but are forced to fight Slugslinger naked because the plasma energy destroyed their armor.
- Offscreen Reality Warp: Bonus Edition Vol. EX (Armada Megatron) has Armada Megatron powerlinking with the Dragoyell Mini-Con (an extremely rare Mini-Con) to get a power-up...only to notice Rattrap has taken Dragoyell's place on the Mini-Con port and is causing Megatron to lose power instead.
- Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Poor Ai from Car Robots is forced to wear a bikini for most of the series and ends up naked a few times.
- Take That!: The Convobat comic takes a subtle jab at Yoshikazu Iwanami's Gag Dub style, where the actors for the movie Nightscream tries to direct has its production go off the rails when the Beast Wars cast keep ad-libbing funny lines over following the script, a practice Iwanami encouraged for his Transformers dubs, Beast Wars included.
- Take That, Audience!: Rhinox/Tankor is used to set up many jokes at the expense of fans who dislike everything but Generation One, with him referencing the "TRUKK NOT MUNKY" meme and being horrified by the Evasion Mode Optimus Prime he thought was a G1 Prime turning into a movie-inspired robot that rides Grimlock. Tankor's arc ends with Rattrap giving a speech about not living in the past.
- Unsettling Gender-Reveal: In reference to Airazor's literal She's a Man in Japan status, the Axalon crew are surprised to find out their new office lady is actually a man.
- Yonkoma: The majority of the strips consist of four-panel gags.
