Threading contains examples of
- Absent Aliens: Threading takes place in The Future with no contact outside Earth's solar system.
- Break the Cutie: So far, Dee is having a very bad day.
- Cast Full of Gay: Goes along with the Improbably Female Cast.
- Damsel in Distress: Dee is implied to be in a lot of trouble, though why or with who isn't clear yet.
- Distinguishing Mark: Nina and Dee have similar markings on their temples.
- Fiery Redhead: Nina, but she dyes it (and her roots are showing)
- Good Cop/Bad Cop: Nina and Vivian, or Lottie and Mona. Nina and Vivian might be more Bad Cop/Worse Cop though.
- Improbably Female Cast: All the characters so far are female;
the author has stated that there will be an in-story explanation. - Lady Swears-A-Lot: Basically everyone.
- The Captain: Nina (or maybe Vivian—they have a bit of a fight over this).
- Troubled, but Cute: Dee is implied to have an addiction problem.
