Friends You Are Stuck With is a webcomic created by Gabe Bold. Set in a World of Funny Animals, it focuses on a group twenty-something cats and dogs (plus an older fox) sharing a flat, following them as they navigate lives of university, work, and relationships.

• Adoption Diss: Jordi was subject to this as a kid.
• Animals Not to Scale: The animals in the comic are all human-sized. This is most noticeable with Michelle, a mouse who's the same height as her cat and dog friends.
• Armed with Pepper Spray: Zoé accidentally sprays Romulo after he startles her awake.
• Beard of Sorrow: The fur on Jordi's chin grows messy after his breakup with Anna, suggesting this trope.
• Boyish Short Hair: Jordan has the shortest headfur of the main cast.
• Cliffhanger: Season Six ends with Gareth overdosing on pills and being rushed to hospital.
• Closet Key: Jordan develops a crush on her work colleague Caroline and, when talking to Dan about it, says she's always considered herself straight and is unsure if her attraction to Caroline is just a one-off thing. She's later seen wearing a bisexual flag.
• Downer Ending: Season Seven ends with Jordi and Anna breaking up even though neither of them wants to.
• Female Feline, Male Mutt: The comic has two couples consisting of a female cat and a male canine; Anna and Jordi, and Zoé and Cecil. Neither relationship lasts.
• Foreshadowing: During an argument with Jordi, Becca mentions she used to defend him when he was mocked by other kids for his family's "uniqueness". We later learn that this uniqueness is that his adopted parents are cats.
• Four-Fingered Hands: The characters' hands have four fingers, but are otherwise human-like.
• Furry Female Mane: A small number of characters, such as Helena, have this.
• Happily Adopted: Jordi and Gareth were adopted at a young age, and are shown to having a loving relationship with their parents.
• Interspecies Adoption: Jordi and Gareth (huskies) were adopted by cats.

  • Zoé (cat) has an on-off relationship with Cecil (wolf), which becomes permanently off after it becomes clear the two want different things out of the relationship.

• Locked in a Room: In "After Effects", Jordi, Helena, and Dan get stuck in an elevator, leading to Jordi and Helena working out Jordi's issues with Helena dating Rick. It turns out them getting stuck was arranged by Zoé to get them to talk about their problems.
• One-Steve Limit: Averted. The main cast includes a Jordi and a Jordan.
• Predator-Prey Friendship: Anna, a cat, is best friends with Michelle, a mouse.
• She Is Not My Girlfriend: Zoé repeatedly insists that she and Cecil aren't in a relationship, something that Cecil himself clearly isn't happy with.

    • Rick is named after the comic's creator.
    • A comic showing Dan struggling to come up with an idea for his script mirrors a similar strip from Housepets.
  • Dom's brother Tim is named after Savestate creator Tim Weeks.
• Sitting on the Roof: Happens often, since the gang live on the top floor of the building.
• Star-Crossed Lovers: Jordi and Anna are happily in a relationship when Anna receives an acceptance for a long-term scholarship in Belgium, which she applied for before meeting Jordi. Since Anna can't turn down the opportunity of the scholarship and Jordi can't leave behind his friends and family, their relationship comes to an end.
• Straight Gay: Dan
• Translation Convention: The arcs "Overseas" and "It Was Night" take place in a French-speaking country. When the native characters are speaking amongst themselves, their speech bubbles are coloured blue to show their dialogue is translated from French.
• Waiting for a Break: Caroline, a waitress who works at the same restaurant as Helena and Jordan, is an aspiring actress.
• Wham Episode:
  • "End". Gareth's pill addiction leads to him overdosing and being rushed to hospital.
  • "Moving". Becca and Helena move out of the eighth floor.
  • The "Overseas" and "It Was Night" saga finally reveal the events that led to Gareth's dependency on sleeping pills.
• Wham Line: This exchange between Dom and his brother Tim at their father's funeral, which is the first time we learn anything about Dom's past.
  Tim: By the way, did you tell Maggie?
  Dom: Did you call any of your exes? Didn't think so.
  Tim: Sure, but none of them are my ex-wife.
• Whole Episode Flashback: The arcs "Beginnings", "Overseas", and "It Was Night", showing Gareth's time in Africa.
