Name One Thing in This Photo (Web Original)
Can you name one thing in this photo?

No, you can't.

In March 2019, this image was uploaded to Instagram by user busyrotting. The image shows what appears to be a room cluttered with various pieces of junk. However, despite all the objects appearing familiar, none of them are actually identifiable.

A month later in April 2019, this image was popularised after it was uploaded to Twitter by user melip0ne.

The true nature of the image is still unknown, however it is widely believed that the photo is not of a real location, but rather an image created by A.I (likely Art Breeder) that blends objects together.

Relevant tropes:

  • Ambiguous Situation: Everything about the photo. It's not clear what any of the objects are supposed to be.
  • Cartoon Creature: The strange black creature in the front. It has what might be an eye (but could also be an ear), ears (that might be limbs) and a mouth like structure but could also be anything else. It's unclear if it is supposed to be a dog, bear, monkey or something else. It at least seems to clearly have fur.
  • Creepy Basement: The image seems to replicate this by showing a room full of hauntingly weird objects.
  • Creepy Changing Painting: Every object in the image seems to change every time you look at it.
  • Dark Is Evil: The entire image is shrouded in a dark hue and contains many black objects.
  • Eldritch Location: The room is completely strange and nothing makes any sense. Every object seems to contradict itself and the laws of physics.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: The image borders on the supernatural but there is nothing explicit. In particular, a brown book-like object appears on the center right that appears to be floating and also cast a reflection onto the radiator but still have two solids.
  • Psychological Horror: The image unsettles by showing objects that look almost familiar enough to recognise, yet always seem incomprehensible, causing your brain to feel uncertain and worried.
