The show follows four teenage best friends who explore their city on skateboards. They discover a mystery involving new technology that will change their lives forever.
This series provides examples of:
- Acrofatic: Justified. As the guard is chasing him down, Jake lampshades the fact that he seems to be running faster, to which the guard responds that he started taking pilates. However, the guard starts losing steam when he tries to climb up a tower to catch Jake.
- Adaptation Expansion: The source game has no plot and simply consists of outrunning police. The show deviates from this by including a Slice of Life plot mixed in with a plot about technology.
- Animals Lack Attributes: Downplayed. The dog is shown to have an x shaped anus, but that's it.
- Animated Adaptation: The series is an animated adaptation of Subway Surfers.
- Asian and Nerdy: Yutani is a Japanese-American who's knowledgeable about science and obsessed with aliens.
- Caustic Critic: The judge at Tricky's ballet recital is a stern old woman who gives the girl before Tricky a 3 out of ten on her performance, terrifying her.
- Chirping Crickets: Parodied. Jake and the dog have a western style standoff in the alleyway, complete with a paper bag with a tumbleweed decal floating past them.
- Disappeared Dad: Jake's mother is explicitly a single mother.
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: The main gang consists of two girls and two boys: Jake, Fresh, Tricky, and Yutani.
- Go to Your Room!: To punish him, Jake's mom tells her son to go to his room.
- Happily Adopted: Yutani has no qualms telling her livestream chat that she's adopted, and she has a great relationship with her adoptive father.
- Insistent Terminology: Tricky's mom insists that her necklace is a heirloom, not a necklace.
- Noodle Incident: When Yutani asks her dad for a favor with her weather machine, he responds hesitantly by saying that her previous favor didn't go very well. Then the camera pans over to an Impact Silhouette of him that's still on the wall.
- Obsessively Organized: As Fresh is getting ready for the day, he makes sure to perfectly line up his hair pick with the rest of his hair care supplies. As he's tearing up his room looking for his boombox, he stops to neatly re-tie his shoes first. Once he finds it and is about to head out, he realizes just how much of a mess he made, and is visibly distraught.
- Ominous Visual Glitch: In the Halloween Special Character Dossier.
- Short Teens, Tall Adults: All the teens are short for their age. Jake seems between 13 and 14 but he's not even up to his mother's shoulders.
- Straight to the Pointe: Implied: when Tricky accidentally wears her sneakers to her ballet recital, several of her ballet moves fail because she isn’t wearing pointe shoes.
- Teen Genius: Yutani's character dossier notes her intelligence.
- Toilet Humor: When Jake and the dog have their standoff in the alley, Jake spits in front of him, to which the dog responds by hiking his leg up and peeing on the ground.
- Vague Age: Yutani looks pre-adolescent but all of the characters are described as teens in promotional material.
