Gregory's Room (Web Animation)
"Oh, I didn't see you there! Hello, I'm Gregory, and this is my room. We're going to have so much fun together, just the two of us."

Gregory's Room is an animated short crafted by seinfeldspitstain, framed as a rejected Nick Jr. pilot from 1999. It stars the titular character, in a room, describing the various ways he plans to keep the viewer entertained during their stay. It gets increasingly disturbing from there.

"We're going to read so much tropes together, just the two of us..."

  • Ambiguously Evil: Gregory himself. It's unclear how much malice, if any, he has behind his behavior, which only serves to make him creepier. The fact that he specifies that the police won't find out where you are or help you, however, suggests that he is at least aware that he's doing something wrong.
  • And I Must Scream:
But, no matter what we do, it will just be the two of us, alone in this room. Just me and you. No parents. No police. No one can hear you.
  • Bald of Evil: Whether Gregory is actually a bald adult or has some sort of Charlie Brown or Caillou situation going on, regardless, he is pretty sinister.
  • Creepy Child: Assuming Gregory is supposed to be a child.
  • Evil Brit: Gregory speaks with a deep British accent as he describes just how he'll keep you comfortable and entertained. Or hostage.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: There is no dialogue for about ten seconds after Gregory tells us about the fireplace.
  • The Remake: It got remade by the YouTube creator vibingleaf in 2023 with the remake arguably being creepier than the original.
  • Sealed Room in the Middle of Nowhere: Gregory's eponymous room seems to be situated in outer space, or some sort of dimension that resembles it. As he proclaims, there are no parents, no police, and no one to hear you and him other than, well, you and him.
  • Synchro-Vox: Played for all the Uncanny Valley horror possible.
  • Uncanny Valley: Invoked. Gregory's head and eyes constantly contort in uncomfortable ways. His mouth is also captured in live action by someone lip-syncing in an intentionally exaggerated way.
  • Vague Age: It's unclear if Gregory is a child or an adult. The latter would undoubtedly be much more terrifying.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Gregory is implied to be a child much like the target audience, but he speaks with an extremely deep voice.
  • Yandere: Gregory needs love, and seems pretty aggressive about acquiring it from you. He'd also like to remind you that it'll just be you two spending time together, with no one else involved.
