Get There Quick

Go To

Get There Quick is a webseries created in 2024 by internet animator and comic artist Aidan DeFrehn. It is a "short-form sitcom" that follows the daily life of a couple (named Harold and Margot) living in early 2000s Philadelphia.

The episodes can be viewed on YouTube and TikTok (here and here, respectively).

Tropes Present in Get There Quick:

  • Deliberate VHS Quality: The entire show has a VHS effect to invoke the time period in which the show is set (the series is said to have taken place in 2003).
  • Laugh Track: The show is styled after 90s-2000s sitcoms, after all.
  • Silence Is Golden: Episodes 2 and 3 have virtually no dialogue, except for a singular line from Harold at the end of Episode 2.
  • Sugar Causes Hyperactivity: Implied. In Episode 2, Margot eats a hard-shelled candy with one more gram of sugar than the rest. The episode ends with an explosion occurring at her and Harold's house, implying that Margot has gone on a sugar rush.
  • Viewers Like You: The YouTube upload of a compilation of the show's three episodes (which also has a "behind-the-scenes" look at the show, viewable here) ends with a spoof of the 90s "Corporation for Public Broadcasting" ident made to promote the creator's Patreon and Ko-Fi pages.
