Dora No More is a parody music video animation by The Stringini Bros. It is specifically based on Dora the Explorer, in which here the titular character experiences many deaths while exploring and/or doing something rather idiotic.
Dora No More provides examples of:
- Adaptational Dumbass: Needless to say, in canon, Dora Márquez would never do any of the fatally idiotic things she does in this video.
- Adaptational Villainy:
- In canon, Boots is a good friend to Dora. In this video, he kills her twice, first by pushing her into quicksand, and later turning on a switch to electrocute her when she was fixing an outlet.
- Implied with Diego at the end, as he grins evilly while he watches Dora get taken to Hell.
- And Call Him "George": Dora invades The Lion King (1994) to grab at and hug Simba, accidentally strangling him and angering the cub’s mother, Sarabi.
- Appease the Volcano God: In the 2025 metal rendition, instead of twerking over a volcano and falling in, Dora is sacrificed into the volcano. The camera even follows her down as she falls in and is vaporized in the magma.
- Black Comedy: The entire video revolves around Dora dying several times in humorous manners.
- Bloodier and Gorier: The 2025 metal rendition adds more blood to Dora's deaths, making them seem more horribly gruesome. Of course, in the original, there was a brief amount of blood spraying out during the part where Dora was mauled offscreen, but the 2025 metal rendition has more graphic examples, such as her organs spilled out after a car crushes her entire torso, and her entire head being shown to be entirely destroyed with blood everywhere and her eyes out of her head when she trips into a rock.
- Bloodless Carnage: A drop of blood barely appears in any of Dora's deaths, being portrayed more cartoonishly. The closest we have is Dora getting mauled offscreen with a very slight amount of blood during the second death, as said in the above pointer. The 2025 metal rendition, on the other hand...
- Butt-Monkey: Dora, who gets killed in several gruesome ways, all the while everyone else doesn’t care or downright ignores her crappy and insanely cringeworthy fates.
- Company Cross-References: The Heavy Metal rendition contains many references to previous animations the Stringini Bros created, with one scene in particular involving Dora being eaten by the eel from SpongeBob Cave Eaten Alive.
- Deconstructive Parody: While some of her deaths are simply due to her being Too Dumb to Live, the main gist of the parody is that a small child going out to explore will generally lead to said kid getting killed.
- Denser and Wackier: Aside from being more brutal, the Heavy Metal rendition is far more off-the-rails than the original version, with many characters from other media (including their depictions from the Stringini Bros’ other parodies) making appearances and some of the deaths being more over-the-top than last time.
- Deranged Animation: To say that the characters (especially Dora) are quite expressive and fluid in their movements is a bit of an understatement to say the least. This arguably gets increased more in the Heavy Metal rendition thanks to it being more exaggeratedly bleak and wackier compared to the original.
- Dies Differently in Adaptation: In the 2025 metal rendition, some of Dora's deaths are changed, mainly when the scissors she held are replaced with needles that the doctor character in that scene likely injected into her, killing her onscreen as she passes out, and when she's falling to her death because of her faulty parachute, she's instead hit by an airplane that impales her. Special mention goes to when she drinks a bottle of poison, it makes her a living zombie who [[Jumpscare lunges at the camera]] instead of lying dead.
- Dragged Off to Hell: Played for Laughs. Dora, the Grim Reaper, and even the Devil himself, for crying out loud, skip their way into a portal to hell in the ending.
- Gory Discretion Shot: We never see Dora being run over by a train, being mauled by jaguars, nor her fate when running with scissors. Averted in the Heavy Metal rendition however, at least for the latter two fates.
- Headphones Equal Isolation: Dora doesn't hear the train coming due to listening to music on her headphones.
- Here We Go Again!: In the Heavy Metal rendition, Dora is instead taken to a portal to the beginning of the animation in the ending, where it's all but implied she'll go through the same ordeal again.
- Quicksand Sucks: Dora's first listed death has her get shoved into quicksand by Boots.
- Mama Bear: Sarabi mutilates Dora for strangling Simba.
- Maniac Monkeys: Boots kills Dora twice, first by pushing her into quicksand then flipping a switch to electrocute her when she was fixing an outlet.
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Dora's attempt to rescue a puppy from the busy road just causes her to be hit and run over by various cars.
- Perpetual Smiler: Diego smiles constantly even when watching his own cousin getting electrocuted and buried. It turns sinister looking when Dora is to taken to hell at the end.
- Plumber's Crack: Dora's butt crack is visible when she fixes an outlet. And in the 2025 metal rendition, where Dora, Diego and Boots’ faces are modeled after Charlie, Pim and Glep respectively, we even see poop come out from Dora’s visible butt.
- Rump Roast: Dora twerks over a volcano, only for her butt to catch on fire before she falls in.
- Shout-Out:
- For her second death, Dora ends up in the universe of The Lion King (1994), where she steals Simba from Rafiki and aggressively hugs him, which ends up angering Sarabi into tearing Dora apart.
- The 2025 rendition is absolutely full of these.
- Slasher Smile: Diego has this at the end when Dora is taken to hell by the devil and the grim reaper.
- Soundtrack Dissonance: Compared to the lyrics and the comically gruesome imagery, the tune that accompanies the animation is rather upbeat and catchy. Played With in the Heavy Metal rendition, as while it's fitting for the increased violence, it also contrasts with the wackiness that's occuring on-screen.
- Stealth Pun: In the 2025 metal version, the "river" Dora falls into is actually poo water, but the cherry on top is that a small poop sclupture like Red from Angry Birds floats by, even bearing his signature scowling expression. Therefore, it’s an Angry Turd.
- Swallowed Whole: Dora is swallowed by a crocodile while swinging on a vine, and can be seen struggling from within afterwards. Averted in the 2025 metal rendition, which has the crocodile covered in blood after a Gory Discretion Shot.
- Toilet Humor: In the 2025 metal rendition, during the part where Dora fixes an outlet, she is shown defecating herself in a graphic and grotesque way. Also, instead of holding flowers in her coffin during the funeral (unlike the original), she is holding the poop with her bare hands.
- Too Dumb to Live: Most of Dora's deaths are due to doing idiotic things such as drinking poison or setting a fire for no reason.
- Unexplained Recovery: Soon after Dora has one death, she comes back perfectly fine to experience the next one. The whole video in general feels like a Dora-fied take of Happy Tree Friends, albeit almost everyone except Dora survives.
