Doobus Goobus (born August 17, 2000) is an animator and voice actor known for his minimalistic art and animation style. He is particularly well known for his Friday Night Funkin' parody series Friday Night Hunkin', and has even made a number of collaborations with other YouTubers.

• Actor Allusion: When Toad says his favorite movie is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in "Mario discusses the Movies", Mario mocks him for choosing a Chris Pratt movie.
• Adaptational Attractiveness: While King Boo in the Luigi's Mansion series has a rather frightening appearance for a Boo, his counterpart here has a tiny, chubby face with little arms, making him look much cuter.
• Adaptational Dumbass:
  • Only five Gorons are capable of any form of cognizant communication. The rest just grunt and eat rocks all day.
  • Right in the title with "Resident Evil 4, but Leon is Stupid", where Leon S. Kennedy has taken the RE4 Remake's "Moushley" Twitter meme at face value (in 2004, no less!), and gets very disheartened and angry when he discovers his target isn't actually a tiny cartoon mouse.
• Adaptational Intelligence: In "The Horrors of Pikmin", a Bulborb gains sentience and talks solely to process the horrors of Louie eating the Pikmin.
• Adaptational Modesty: Exaggerated in "Harley and Ivy are Great Friends", where Poison Ivy is turned into a potted plant.
• Adaptational Nice Guy: In Luigi's Mansion, But He Brought Daisy, King Boo is a lot more polite and soft spoken here than the vengeful psychopath he is in the games. He noticeably seems much more interested in scamming Luigi than actually harming him, and while he still kidnaps Mario, he at least doesn't try to trap either brother in a portrait. He's also implied to have a crush on Luigi.
• Adaptational Species Change: Freddy Fazbear is portrayed as an actual live bear as opposed to an animatronic designed to resemble one.
• Adaptational Ugliness: Sonic the Hedgehog is drawn with an elongated head, a fat belly, and eyes detached from his body.
• Adaptational Villainy:
  • In "Wife Amy Rose", Amy Rose nearly kills Tails in front of Sonic as revenge for constantly getting rejected for the past 30 years.
  • In "Ren and OJ Stimpson", Stimpy is portrayed as a murderer who killed his own wife.
• Adaptational Wimp: In "Silent Hill 2 for people who haven't played it", Pyramid Head, despite intimidating James at first, is depicted in a less threatening light, moving very slow enough for James to leave the room without any trouble and being easily warded off by James angrily telling him to go away. This is in contrast to the game, where Pyramid Head is portrayed as a menacing figure whom James is forced to survive against and is only taken down when James finally confronts him and comes to terms with his guilt.
• Advertised Extra: Discussed in "Mortal Kombat's Story is No Good" where Scorpion complains to Ed Boon about how he's always advertised on the cover of the games, yet ends up being either sidelined or killed off.
• Affably Evil:
  • Katie in "Brent and Sophie - The Money" is a lovely lady who is involved in some shady businesses. While she talks in a kind tone and will be nice and offer extension if you can't pay, she's not above breaking your toes if you don't follow through. It's Nothing Personal, and if you do follow through, she'll still invite you to her neighborhood party.
  • While King Boo kidnaps Mario and attempts to scam Luigi, he still comes off as a genuinely friendly individual.
• Age Lift:
  • In the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Tails and Big are supposed to be 8 and 18 years old respectively, but are explicitly stated to be 4 and 3 years old in "Big the Pet Cat".
  • Sonic is 15 in the games, but stated to be 25 in Vanilla The Mommy & Lil' Cream.
• Anthropomorphic Food: Lampshaded in "Pizza Tower for People Who Haven't Played It", where Peppino films a commercial for his restaurant and notes that "all of our ingredients are alive so we always piss off the vegans", saying "It's awesome!" before slicing the Pineapple Toppin vertically in half as it screams while the other 4 just watch in horror.
• Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Double Subverted. In "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer For People Who Haven't Seen It", the opening scene features Grandma Spankenheimer getting run over by a reindeer, then a truck, then a train. She is then "run over" by a snowball, which hits her to no reaction, until Doobus clarifies that the snowball in question is "a really big one", crushing her beneath it. Doobus then ends it with "and by a me", landing on the really big snowball to no effect.
• Ask a Stupid Question...: In ''The Chaotix Neighbors (& Knuckles)", Charmy the Bee gets stuck in Knuckles' scalp. When Sonic asks if it hurts, Knuckles replies with:
  Knuckles: No! It's like i'm being hugged by my own mother! What do you think?
  Sonic: You know what? That was a dumb question.
• At Least I Admit It: In "The Seven Stupid Sins", Pride admits he's sexist, unlike Lust who claims to "respect all porn categories".
• Awesome, but Impractical: In "A Tale of Two Banes", Latino Bane cites Welsh Bane's plans to kill Batman with bombs as the reason he is avoiding him, since they take three weeks to set up before Batman is already gone, running contrary to Latino Bane's preferred direct approach, in addition to being ticked off that one of them destroyed Latino Bane's favorite coffee shop at one point.
• Ax-Crazy: As always, Art the Clown is a sadistic, violent Monster Clown who in "Scooby-Doo Vs. Art the Clown" puts Scooby-Doo through a torture horrific enough for him to be put into a body cast and cuts Fred's arms out, though this initially goes unnoticed by Shaggy.
• Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: "This Video is Terrible on Purpose" features Doobus Goobus sarcastically praising and supporting anything considered to be problematic such as MrBeast (who was the subject of controversy for a whole bevy of different things at the time), Lunchly (who is infamous for reports of mold in their products; Doobus even sarcastically suggests that they should make their lunches poop-flavored), streaming services such as Netflix, the British monarchy (whom Doobus considers to be doing "fuck all"), and the Black Plague. To finish it off, Doobus expresses his "hatred" of love.
• Bad People Abuse Animals: "Courage and the Big Meanie" has Courage getting smacked by Eustace for various reasons. In order, Eustace smacks Courage for ordering Dominos instead of Pizza Hut, not warning him that buying an oversized hat would "make [him] look like a jerk", not warning him that voting for the "Jaguars Eating Faces" party would get his face eaten, and for no reason in particular. After the last one, Eustace tells Courage he loves him, causing Courage to correctly assume that he's dreaming.
• Benevolent Abomination: Pooh becomes this in "Pooh Conquers Space". While "abomination" is a strong word, reality itself will alter to avoid upsetting Pooh, to the point that it'll instantly give Doobus the knowledge of its alteration and give depression, cancer, and AIDS sentient forms and have them happily live together, as well as turn a Xenomorph that was attacking Doobus earlier into a kindly old lady Xenomorph, and change the Black Speech name of an alien race to Hunny because Pooh found it too scary. In the end, however, all Pooh wants is for Piglet to be happy.
  • Pooh already had shades of this in the prior video Pooh Ends Eeyore's Suffering, considering that on there he made a sentient explosion stop blowing up Eeyore's house.
• Beat Without a "But": This trope occurs in "Animal Crossing, But It's THAT Island" when Doobus tries consoling Isabelle after she learns he has a Charlie Kirk memorial in his home and made the island tune "We'll Carry the Flame".
  Doobus: Listen, Isabelle. I know this is awful...
  Isabelle: And what? I don't—

• Berserk Button: Robotnik gets really angry when anyone calls him their daddy, particularly in the case of Sonic, and eventually Sage.
• Big Beautiful Woman: Gluttony in Doobus’s depiction of the seven deadly sins is one of Lust’s love interests, depsite being literally spherical.
  Lust: Hey man, I respect all porn categories!
• Biting-the-Hand Humor: "YouTube's Sick Little Games", mocking the algorithm for downvoting anyone who doesn't constantly pump out content — such as Doobus Goobus himself when he's not feeling well:
  Doobus Goobus: I don't get it, my audience was supportive!
  YouTube: ''I'M NOT THE AUDIENCE, I'M THE ANALYTICS! I FUCKING HATE YOU!'
• Black Blood: invoked Parodied in "Invincible, But You Can Hurt Him". Doobus acknowledges that due to YouTube advertiser policies, he's had to change the color of the blood in the animation, before it cuts to Invincible covered in yellow blood, which looks equally suggestive (especially since a lot of it is in his mouth), prompting him to exclaim "WHO PICKED YELLOW!?"^note this is all a parody of Chinese censorship of the series' extreme gore by changing all the blood to a white color, causing some scenes to look extremely unintentionally suggestive. The blood is then colored purple for the rest of the animation.
• Boob-Based Gag:
  • Cousin Mel has an absolutely massive chest in "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer For People Who Haven't Seen It". The real joke is that she shakes it back and forth fluidly. Goobus even outsourced another artist to give her jiggle physics.
  • In general Ms. Fanservice characters will have overly large breasts compared to the rest of their body. This trope is exggaterated in "Scooby Doo vs. Art the Clown", where Daphne is given breasts that increase in size every time she appears on screen, getting to the point where she can't even stand due to the size of her mammaries!
    • This is lampshaded and mocked during ''You are Entering a World, Where I Hate this Little Green Man'', where Rod Serling uses this as one of the reasons to attack Goobus.
• Brainy Baby: Downplayed with Goobus' baby son, Gilgamesh. Although he can speak in complete sentences, he's still very much a child. For example, In his first speaking appearance, he shames his father for using him for online clout, only stopping when Goobus tells him he'd be given thumbs if he learns to stand.
• Broken Dialect, Impactful Speech: Parodied in "The Smiling Friends Have A Crisis" when Glep manages to de-escalate a situation with his "words":
  Glep: Aheuhauuhauheuahhfahwail.
  Charlie: Ya know what? What he just said de-escalated the entire situation. I feel better.
• Brutal Honesty: In "A Tale of Two Banes", when Welsh Bane discovers that Latino Bane has Batman completely at his mercy and is deliberately avoiding him, Latino Bane lays out on Welsh Bane that he is doing so because he believes his schemes to bomb Batman don't work, claiming that Welsh Bane takes too long to set up the bombs before Batman is out of their sight and recounting the time that one of them blew up his favorite coffee shop.
• Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Sora is capable of giving a Sexual Education lesson but only in KH metaphors and has no idea what a penis actually is unless it's called a keyblade.
• The Bus Came Back: The Gamer Frogs make their first appearance in nearly four years with "Gaming Podcast (for Gamers)". In the gap between episodes, Frog A has gotten his master's degree in computer science, married a beautiful woman and had four kids, while Frog 2 hasn't learned anything and is still a total misogynist, which infuriates Frog A.
• Call-Back: In "Sonic Banned From the Frontiers", Eggman's appearance causes Sonic to point out that the former was given the death penalty by Rouge in "Daddy Eggman":
  Eggman: I WAS! LAST THING I REMEMBER WAS THE FAINT SMELL OF CHLOROFORM, (as Sonic projects a mental image of Sage applying the chloroform) AND THEN-
  Sage: Dada!
  Eggman: I'M NOT A GODDAMN FATHER!
• Calling the Old Man Out: When Goobus tries to film his son Gilgamesh's first steps, Gilgamesh suddenly gains the ability to speak and chews out his father for using an important moment in his child's life as a way to get clicks online.
• Call-Forward: While "Whoever Smelt-a-rune, Deltarune focuses exclusively on Chapter 1 of Deltarune, Toriel's TV has a giant white nose breaking out of its screen, referencing Tenna from Chapter 3.
• The Cameo: "Whoever Smelt-a-rune, Deltarune" has three:
  • While it's based off of the game's first chapter, it fits in a cameo from Tenna of Chapter 3 (in the form of his nose broken halfway out of Toriel's TV.)
  • Similarly, a doll of spr_mysteryman (the figure theorized to be W. D. Gaster) can be seen on Toriel's windowsill, and the mystery man himself appears as both Ralsei's advisor advising him not to call himself "prince of the blacks" and on a Freeze-Frame Bonus screen.
  • Noelle and Berdly can just about be seen in the corner of Alphys' one and only scene in the video.
• Captain Ersatz: Wabus Dwabus in "My Evil Rival, Wabus Dwabus" is meant to be an obvious Wario knockoff. The thumbnail of the cartoon even has the label "Not Wario" pointed at him:
  Wabus: I eat... (squints over a copyright law document, then an onion with "not garlic" written on it appears in his hand) onions!
• Casting Gag: In Big the Pet Cat, Big states that he is "thwee" in a Duke Nukem voice while sporting the hairdo and shades. Big is voiced by Gianni Matragrano, known for doing Duke Nukem impressions, and Jon St. John officially played both characters.
• Character Development: Parodied in Doobus' Deltarune video with Susie, who goes from a bully-turned-brief minor villain to a nicer person upon realizing being nice to people gets her chalk (though her attempts to talk King down fail.) She ends the video offering Kris a chunk of her giant chalk. Doobus mocks himself for this in the subtitles (and the description makes it clear Susie is his favourite character.)
• Chubby Chaser: invoked In "Invincible, But You Can Hurt Him", Mark/Marco is not bothered in the slightest over Omni-Man's claim that Atom Eve will somehow become fat if he doesn't join him^note likely parodying Mark's memetic admittance of being one in Issue 79 of the comics. At the end of the video, Doobus reveals that he shares the sentiment.
• Classified Information: The 53rd state of America mentioned in the short "Are We In Hell?" seems to be this, as any attempts to look up what it was or why it disappeared will give messages not to worry about it.
• Cloudcuckoolander:
  • The Judge in Doobus's Ace Attorney shorts is portrayed as a senile old fool who plays with jingling keys, openly admits to having No Object Permanence, and sentences Edgeworth to death for being rude.
  • Sophie the giraffe takes this to extreme levels. Case in point: in "The Money", Brent the hobo skunk is about to have his toes broken by Katie, an adorable little gangster caterpillar, unless he finds the $300 he owes her within the next minute. Sophie literally coughs the money up, on condition that Brent has to talk to her. By the end of it, Brent wishes he'd let Katie break his toes instead.
• Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: When Mario keeps misunderstanding Vivian coming out to him as trans, Luigi manages to get through to him by explaining it to him in Italian.
• Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch: Despite the fact he hasn't played a video game in four years, Frog 2 still has a gaming podcast. He attempts to justify this by stating that people giving opinions on games they've never played has become the norm for the past few decades.
• Contrived Coincidence: Parodied in Ace Attorney for Those Who Haven't Played It. Phoenix recounts the last time Maya was accused of murder, as a result of slipping on a giant banana peel, launching into outer space, landing in the country of Turkey where her hand landed on a knife that had just been used to stab a dude, took disinfectant and spilled it on the knife that wiped away all the fingerprints except for Maya's, and there was a record of her ordering plane tickets to Turkey at that exact time while she was sleepwalking.
• The Cutie: Winnie the Pooh is portrayed in the cartoons he's in as being almost absurdly pure-hearted, which even carries over to when he became president of the United States, and Doobus just doesn't have the nerve to explain issues like Big Pharma, the separation of church and state, and abortion when Pooh gave innocent answers, mishearing the first two into something else and not knowing what the latter is.
  • This even extends to when he becomes king of the entire world, where he thinks depression itself is a sentient being and says he wants it to be happy too.
  • And then it gets taken even further when Pooh asks an explosion to stop blowing up Eeyore's house and the explosion agrees to do so. (He settles for blowing up Doobus instead, who's working on Eeyore's house)
  • Tails is portrayed in the cartoons as innocent and adorable child complete with a baby-like appearance, a Propeller Hat of Whimsy and a childish voice.
• Dateless Grave: Happens in "The Garf Reaper". The grave of Doobus has his date of birth represented with "???" and the date of death represented by a Garfield comic.
• Deadly Euphemism: A variant. In the captions of "Lilo and Stitch, But Disney Ruined It", Stitch claims he's going to "hug" Bob Iger in the captions, but in the actual video, he outright says he's going to kill him instead and he's covered in blood in the next scene. This is likely to keep it from being construed as a real threat.
• Depraved Kids' Show Host: In "Sesame Street Teaches Colorblindness", Muppet!Goobus openly states his hatred of the colorblind, calling them "freaks".
• Disproportionate Retribution: In "Holy Crap Lois, Disney Reduced Our Budget!", Brian Griffin is reduced to a head after calling Walt Disney an anti-semite one too many times.
• The Dog Bites Back: More like "The Bear Bites Back". In "The Banned Final Muppets Show", Statler and Waldorf's jeering finally gets Fozzie to reach his Rage Breaking Point. In response, he suddenly reverts to his primal instincts and kills the two hecklers by biting their heads off, much to the horror of his co-stars.
• Early-Installment Weirdness: The description of the Gamer Frogs' first appearance states their names are Squirmit and Hermit (though who's who is never specified). In "Unpopular Gaming Opinion", the tall frog is named Frog A and the short one is named Frog 2. In addition, the description mentions they are Kermit the Frog's cousins, something that has never brought up since.
• Elvis Lives: And he was under Doobus' foot the entire time, even years before Doobus was even born. However, Elvis then immediately goes to Subway and chokes on a sandwich... on the toilet.
• Enfant Terrible: "Child's Play, But Chucky's a Lil Baby" turns Chucky from a possessed doll, to an adorably homicidal 4 year old.
• Everyone Has Standards:
  • In "Silent Hill 2 for people who haven't played it", Doobus refuses to make a joke about Angela, a deeply traumatized survivor of sexual assault who ends up Driven to Suicide, much like Doobus once was in real life:
    Doobus: I don’t wanna make a joke about this one.
  • After a Bulborb witnesses Louie eating Pikmin in "The Horrors of Pikmin", its brain evolved specifically to process the horrors it witnessed and promptly chews out Louie for subjecting it to the ensuing nightmares.
  • Pride in "The Seven Stupid Sins" might be an entitled sexist who refuses to date Gluttony because she's fat, but even he's disgusted when Lust refers to her as a "porn category".
    Pride: I'm an actual sexist, and even I wanna throw up at that. Holy shit.
• Exact Words: "The Lasso of Truth Would Still Let You Lie" has one involving Wonder Woman's weapon: when the hero tries to force a criminal to tell where he hid his loot, he simply keeps refusing to do such, repeatedly stating he didn't want to do that — which was the truth, just not the one Wonder Woman wanted to hear. He then proceeds to spend the rest of the video explaining his world vision and what he perceives as the truth.
• Expanded States of America: The Seven Stupid Sins live in the 51st state named Canada. There are at least 54 states in their world with the 52nd and 54th being Mexico and The Moon respectively. The 53rd state mysteriously disappeared in The '80s and looking it up online will just come back with messages not to worry about it.
• Extreme Omnivore: Parodied with Kris, who eagerly chows down on a bit of Susie's giant chalk when she offers it to them, even though (or, knowing Kris, because) it's clogging up Souly the SOUL inside them.
• Fat and Skinny: Envy and Gluttony in The Seven Stupid Sins. Envy is a teal, short, skinny and poor Victorian child, while Gluttony is a pink, tall and round German woman.
• Feghoot: The Joke Designed to Offend Everybody" is one of these. A man visits a video game convention and learns that there is an upcoming game where you play as a member of the Klu Klux Klan. He is (rightfully) pissed about it and questions the developer, who states the game is meant to be anti-racism because it's about a klansman who gets turned into a bee and must learn to tolerate those who are black and yellow. The man, now confused, asks how the game plays. The developer responds by saying it won't be like any other game on the market. The gameplay will be so unique, it's a part of a completely unique genre: White People Beelike.
• Fetishized Abuser: How Harley Quinn sees the Joker in "Harley Quinn is not very smart", who states upfront that he doesn't love her and will do all kinds of unpleasant things to her, and yet it doesn't faze her one bit:
  Joker: Oh, and I'm only telling you this to avoid a future lawsuit, you know; like, I would omit this if I could for cruel intentions.
  Harley: Fully aware!
  Joker: Alright, and finally I'm totally willing to cut your face off purely for sick pleasure.
  Harley: (blushes) That's hot!
  Joker: HOT?! (beat) You know, maybe I kinda do like you. Heh heh!
• Finger in the Mail: Steve in "Blue's Clues Gets Bad News" is mailed a toe and gets distressed. Not understanding the gravity of the situation, Blue puts a pawprint on it since it was a clue. Steve isn't angry, but even further distressed since it has to be turned into the police and now it's possibly contaminated.
• Five-Second Foreshadowing: In "Courage and the Big Meanie", Eustace — after getting an overly large hat and his face eaten by a jaguar — has been yelling at Courage the entire video. But at one point, Eustace tells Courage he loves him, with his hat and face back to normal. Of course, the comment along with the latter two pieces of evidence makes Courage realize immediately that he’s just dreaming.
• Freudian Threat: Mickey Mouse gives one to Sora in "Kingdom Hearts Sex Ed" if he doesn't stop talking about sex education:
  Sora: What's a penis?
  Mickey: IT'S SOMETHING I'M GOING TO RIP RIGHT OFF YOUR GODDAMN BODY IF YOU DON'T ZIP THAT YAP!
• The Friend Nobody Likes: After Charmy eats Sonic's comically-sized crowbar, Knuckles gets ready to pull him out. Vector tries to stop him since Charmy will die if he's not pulled out delicately, but Knuckles asks why he should care since everybody but Vector hates Charmy.
• Fun with Subtitles: Doobus also has a few jokes in the closed captions of his videos, either exaggerated accent of some of the character, notes on some accent, changing dialogues to be less vulgar, etc.
• Funny Background Event: In the first Gamer Frogs short, Kermit the Frog can be seen relaxing in the background. In the second short, he's seen clinging onto a blade of grass. In the third short, Kermit vanishes and leaves a sign with a negative review on it.
• Furry Reminder: In "Freddy Fazbear Causes Disrepair", Freddy states he couldn't talk with Goobus about him watching the Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) movie in the past six months because he really wanted to take a nap. At first, Goobus is annoyed and confused that someone would nap for six months before remembering that Freddy is a bear.
• Gone Horribly Right: In "A Typical Ace Attorney Trial", after running out of patience dealing with everyone's nonsense and them trying to pin genocide on Maya, Nick decides to turn the case against Edgeworth, the prosecutor. And this does succeed. However, Nick clearly didn't expect that such a result wouldn't get Edgeworth jailed, but straight up executed.
• G-Rated Drug: Played for Laughs in "Tears of the Kingdom - Goron Addicts" in regards to the Marbled Rock Roast that the Gorons have been eating, which is addictive, bad for them, and has been making them irritable. Link very quickly realizes that they’re basically on meth.
• Gratuitous Japanese: Espio in "The Chaotix Neighbors (& Knuckles)" speaks in whatever random Japanese vocabulary that he could find. When Sonic asks what he says, Vector says that it's just gibberish. However, he does know one proper phrase, which translates to "Your mother is gay!":
  Charmy: (gasps) She is not!
• Grave Humor: Even after being killed, Statler and Waldorf still find a way to heckle The Muppet Show.
  That bite was still a better headache than the show!
  Do ho ho ho.
• Guilty Until Someone Else Is Guilty: In "A Typical Ace Attorney Trial", Nick goes through the grueling process of proving Maya Fey's innocence regarding the crime of nuking Turkey, only for Edgeworth to smugly point out that someone obviously had to be guilty... and eventually for no logical reason (or at least as much logic as Edgeworth assuming Maya did it), Phoenix decides to accuse Edgeworth, and the Judge buys it without a second thought. Phoenix still doesn't feel good about that, pointing out that he may have just sent an innocent man to his death.
• Half-Witted Hillbilly: Two appear in "You Might Be a Redneck!"
  Hick 1: You might be a redneck if... if...uh...
  Hick 2: If your neck is red?
  Hick 1: It's not literal, dumbass!
• Happy Ending: In "Mr Freeze Gets a Happy Ending", Batman reveals to Freeze that the cure to Nora's disease was just a hot bowl of soup, which also cures Freeze, destroys his criminal record, and somehow teleports them both to a beach in The Bahamas.
• Harmful to Minors: Parodied by "Drink Poison, It's Good!" where Doobus encourages children to drink literal poison on the grounds that it will make them cool and stop getting bullied by lame kids who are too dumb and uncool to drink poison. Then the end of the video has Doobus claim his parole officer is making him say that this was all a joke.

• Hoist by His Own Petard: Edgeworth pointing out someone needs to be guilty of nuking Turkey, ends up getting himself accused of it.
• Horrible Judge of Character: "Scooby-Doo Vs. Art the Clown" has Shaggy Rogers trying to convince Velma to let him keep Art the Clown as a friend despite the fact that Art cut off both of Fred's arms and did something to Scooby-Doo involving bleach and saltshakers that left him in a full body cast. Justified, as Shaggy is high on fentanyl that it affected his sense of judgement.
  Shaggy: Just 'cause he inspired three films called Terrifier, which are considered the most disgusting horror films of all time, doesn't mean he...meant it. (Beat) He's cute!
  Velma: He's not!
• Hypocritical Humor: Lust is a closeted bisexual who fears God. Given his choice of lifestyle, liking men should be the least of his concerns.
• I Ate WHAT?!: When Doobus does a video explaining that he is not a broccoli, a fat character is currently in the process of eating his hair when he drops this bombshell:
  Doobus: If you all must know to end this slanderous lie, I am actually a toxic goo that grew out of the earth, (the character stops eating and musters a shocked look) that if you ingest you will die immediately. (the same character's heart stops in an instant and he keels over dead) Okay, I didn't really like that guy, 'cuz he was eating me, so I don't care. anyway...
• Identity Coding: Parodied in "Lilo & Stitch, But Disney Ruined It". Reuben claims that the reason that Captain Gantu wasn't in Lilo & Stitch (2025) is because "[Disney] hate[s] black people" (Gantu is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson), before remembering that Gantu is also a "giant whale thing" and asking, "Can whales be black?".
• Implausible Deniability: Played for Laughs in "Kingdom Hearts Sex Ed". When Mickey Mouse smashes Sora's head in with an I-beam to stop him from giving sex ed, the slides are instantly replaced with a caption reading, "Slides sent to disney vault for """"NO"""" reason" [sic], but the copious quotation marks around the "NO" and Mickey's rambling still makes it obvious why.
• Insult Backfire: When Frog A finds out that one of the songs Frog 2 wrote is titled "Samus Aran Should Make Me a Sandwich (Because She Is a Woman)" in "Gamer Frogs: Epic Videogame Parody", he tells him that his entire existence is a women's rights violation, to which Frog 2 finds legitimately touching:
  Frog A: I feel like your continued existence is a women's rights violation.
  Frog 2: I'm genuinely touched!
• Interrupted by the End: A Running Gag throughout Doobus' videos involves them cutting to black in the middle of a character's sentence.
• It Amused Me: When Knuckles tries adopting Tails, the latter calls him Uncle Knuckles, annoying him. Sonic taught Tails this because he found it funny, so when Tails says it again while Knuckles is sulking away, the latter takes out his frustrations on Sonic.
• "It" Is Dehumanizing: In "Gamer Frogs: The Gamer Code", Frog 2 refers to Samus as "it":
  Frog A: What is "it"?
  Frog 2: The woman.
  Frog A: Are women really just objects to you-?
  Frog 2: (without hesitation) Unquestionably, un-fucking-questionably.
• It Tastes Like Feet: After spending most of "Hollow Knight For People Who Haven't Played it" trying to stop the Knight from eating the Infection, Hornet finally relents and allows it to upon learning that it's supposed to do that. The Knight gets really into it, so much so that Hornet decides to take a curious taste test of the Infection herself...
  Hornet: spits IT TASTES LIKE PENCIL LEAD, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?
• Jerkass Realization: Envy in "The Seven Stupid Sins" asks for some of Gluttony's cake, to which Gluttony agrees and hands some over. He realizes right afterwards that he mostly just likes to complain.
  Envy: Wait, I've always hated this flavor. Am I a bitch?
• Kick the Dog: In "Jack Horner goes to Therapy", Jack nonchalantly tells the Ethical Bug that one of his personal hobbies is spreading "the good word of atheism", which he clarifies in that he only does so when he waits for children to watch their parents die (as in killing them) and makes sure to drive his point home to them that they will never see them again because this is a "godless universe with no afterlife". When Jack goes on a lunch break, he eats a bucket full of living puppies, horrifying the Ethical Bug enough to call Puss in Boots to kill Jack.
• Kill and Replace:
  • In "Nobody Wanted a Gollum Game", it’s revealed Gollum ended up being the sole programmer of his game despite never touching a computer, because every time a programmer said the game was a terrible idea, he killed them and then took over their job.
  • In "Lilo and Stitch, But Disney Ruined It", Stitch decides to murder Bob Iger (the current CEO of Disney) after realizing his friends are not behaving like they normally would. After killing Iger, Stich takes over his role as the head of Disney.
• Lame Comeback: After receiving an Armor-Piercing Question from Fozzie and Gonzo, Statler and Waldorf resort to calling the Muppets names in "The Banned Final Muppet Show."
  Waldorf: Fuck you, tubby!
  Fozzie: Tubby?!
  Statler: You too, dicknose.
  Gonzo: What?
  Kermit: Hey, that wasn't even clever.
• Laser-Guided Karma: In "Chun-Li's Legs" immediately after Chun-Li takes advantage of Cammy White's feelings for her directly after coming out to her, Zangief show up, states he's also gay, and thus not Distracted by the Sexy like everyone else, and ends Chun-Li's winning streak in an instant.
• Leg Focus: "Chun Li's Legs" parodies both the Street Fighter series' extensive use of fanservice and the excessively gooner fanbase through the emphasis placed on Chun Li's legs.
• Loophole Abuse: "The Lasso of Truth Would Still Let You Lie" argues that one can get around the effects of Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth by simply answering "I don't want to answer that" to any questions you don't want to answer. It's still the truth, after all.
• Major Injury Underreaction:
  • In "Kingdom Hearts Sex Ed", even after Mickey Mouse (the corporate mascot, not the KH version of him) smashes Sora's head in with an I-beam, the latter only expresses mild inconvenience and is still lucid enough to keep giving his sex-ed class despite Mickey's protests:
  Sora: OOF! That smarts!
  • In "Scooby-Doo vs. Art the Clown", Fred is not inconvenienced in the slightest when his arms are cut off, even cracking a joke about his situation.
  Fred: When I said, "Let's split up, gang", I didn't mean my arm sockets!
• Man of a Thousand Voices: With a few exceptions, Goobus does every voice in his animations, and almost none of them, even the girls, sound alike. His impressions of pre-existing characters are especially praised for being dead on, with just a few examples being Winnie the Pooh; Mario and Luigi; Johnny Bravo; Courage the Cowardly Dog; Master Shake, Meatwad, and Carl; Hank Hill, Dale, Bill and Boomhauer; and the entire Belcher Family and Teddy. And his range doesn't just extend to cartoon characters, as he can also do things like a perfect Paul Bearer impression.
• Maurice Chevalier Accent: Parodied in "I've Been Diagnosed with 'French'". After Doobus gets some 23AndMe test results back confirming him to be 30 percent French, he makes an entire video using a ridiculously exaggerated French accent complete with "hon hon hon"s (even going so far as to say that you may need to turn subtitles on to understand him) while dressed like an Onion Johnny.
• Mistaken for Racist: Narrowly avoided by Ralsei, who first introduces himself as "Prince of the Blacks" before a very Gaster-esque advisor reminds him that term might just be offensive to black people. Though as the video subtitles put it, "Prince of the Darkners" is hardly better.
• Morality Pet: Winnie the Pooh seems to be this to the entire planet and galaxy as the heads of every single country fixed their problems out of instinct not to stress him out upon him becoming the ruler of the entire planet and him showing up creates galactic peace and an entire alien race to change their name after Pooh says their original name sounds scary. Literally everyone will do what he asks because of how cute he is and the reason he doesn’t take advantage of that is because of what kind of Pooh Bear he is.
• My God, What Have I Done?:
  • In "Winnie The Pooh is Not Scary", the creator of a Winnie the Pooh horror movie (obviously meant to be Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey) begins to feel this way after Pooh simply requests to add a disclaimer to the movie apologizing to anyone who his movie depiction scares.
  • In A Typical Ace Attorney Trial, Phoenix gets some retribution against Edgeworth by flipping the accusations onto him, after he had demanded that Phoenix tell the court who the culprit is, even though he's just there to defend Maya. Unfortunately, the Judge sentences Edgeworth to death via being thrown into a vat of acid, which Phoenix didn't want and is greatly distraught over.
    Phoenix: I may have just killed an innocent man.
• Never Say "Die": Zig-Zagged. While mentions of death are a common sight in Doobus' videos, the official captions will replace them with euphemisms. For example, in "Green Man in a Green Blizzard", the word "die" is interpreted as "game end" by the captions.
• No Ending: Lampshaded by Knuckles in "The Chaotix Neighbors (& Knuckles)" where Knuckles calls out Sonic for not doing anything about Charmy still being stuck in Knuckles' head after Charmy eats Sonic's comically-sized crowbar to not hurt Vector's feelings.
• NO INDOOR VOICE: Eggman seems to only have two levels of volume: loud and extremely loud.
• Noodle Implements: In "A Typical Ace Attorney Trial", Pheonix states he found 27 pieces of evidence to prove Maya not guilty of nuking Turkey, with the only one seen being the Declaration of Independence with a wad of chewing gum stuck to it.
• No-Sell: In "Chun Li's Legs", Chun-Li is able to kick the majority of the Street Fighter roster into submission. However, Zangief is completely unaffected due to being homosexual, which is her undoing.
• Not Even Bothering with an Excuse: In "Courage and the Big Meanie", Eustace berates Courage for a variety of petty reasons, like for ordering from Domino's instead of Pizza Hut and not telling him voting for the "Jaguars Eating Faces" Party would result in his face getting eaten off. One of these times, he openly admits he doesn't even have a specific reason and just doesn't like him.
• "Not Making This Up" Disclaimer:
  • In "I Tried Tinder Once", Doobus has an awful Tinder chat in which a woman nastily compares him to Bob Ross with a vomiting emoji, then suggests he must be trans. He notes it's pretty unbelievable, but then he shows a screenshot from Tinder to prove this really happened.
  • In "The Undertaker and his Tiny Father", Paul Bearer speaks in Goobus's real voice to note that Kane is genuinely the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee in real life.
• N-Word Privileges: In "I've Been Diagnosed with 'French'", despite learning of his 30 percent French ancestry, he still isn't confident that that's enough for him to call himself a "frog", so he substitutes it for "fraud" at the last second.
• Obviously Evil: In "Internet Mascot Horror is Stupid" the Goobus franchise barely attempts to hide its depravity, and yet the people eat it up enough that these facts are considered the "horrifying underbelly" of the franchise. To start, it rebooted in the 90's with "The Goobus & Fucking Satan Show," a child ended up being turned into a Doobus Goobus Goo that haunts the entire Doobus Goobus factory, the uniform of the Doobus Goobus theme parks being a mascot costume weighing 300 pounds with no airholes that has killed many employees, Goobus killing 30 childrens out of boredom and several Goobus variants haunting the world.
• Odd Friendship: Among the Seven Deadly Sins, Gluttony and Envy actually get along pretty well because Gluttony is willing to give Envy her food, and Envy appreciates her kindness even though he's not capable of enjoying it. They also like to watch Kitchen Nightmares together.
• Of Corpse He's Alive: In "Weekend at Antman's", Hulk accidentally sits on Antman during the Avengers roll call. Thor even compares the situation to Weekend at Bernie's:
  Thor: Did he get squished?!
  Hulk: No no no, Ant just have bad posture!
  Iron Man: "Bad posture"? His spine's a goddamn slinky! You can play the accordion on his back!
  Hulk: NO NO, ANT ALIVE, LOOK! (clears throat, moves his finger up and down while it handles Ant Man) Look at Ant! Ant not dead! Doot do doo! No lawsuit needed! Doot do doo!
  Iron Man: We didn't say anything about him being dead.
• One-Joke Fake Show: A Running Gag in the Gamer Frogs series is Frog 2's fondness for media with one joke.
  • In "Epic Video Game Parody", Frog 2 pitches an idea for a video game-themed comedy album. But, as Frog A notices, nearly every song has the same joke of the frog from Frogger refusing to start the game.
  • In "Gamer Podcast (for Gamers)", Frog 2 reveals that his podcast is about him looking at images of Princess Peach in a cage and calling them "good"...for 5 hours.
• Only Sane Man:
  • Brent in the 'Brent and Sophie' episodes. Especially in "The Hobo", when he not only has to put up with Sophie but Gus (a senile seal) as well.
  • Stitch and Reuben in "Lilo and Stitch, But Disney Ruined It". Lilo and Jumba are both acting completely out of character and Pleakley is in denial.
• Out-of-Character Alert: After being repeatedly abused by Eustace for petty reasons (or for no reason at all) through most of "Courage and the Big Meanie", Courage is suddenly greeted by his owner happily saying that he loves him, even referring to him by name. Courage, knowing Eustace, quickly deduces that he is dreaming.
• Parental Favoritism: Parodied in "The Undertaker and his Tiny Father", where Paul Bearer blatantly favors Kane over The Undertaker because Kane is a successful politician in real life.
  Bearer: I don't make boys who APPLY THEMSELVES eat their vegetables!
  Undertaker: You always gotta bring that up, huh, dad?
• Partially Civilized Animal: "Funny Seals" stars two seals that flop around and bark like other seals would, except one of them sells eggs and the other reveals it can speak English as it scolds the seller for giving it an uncooked egg.
• Pirate Episode: "Pirates on a Budget" involves Goobus meeting a group of pirates who clearly have issues.
• The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Despite being the second half of the Gamer Frogs and having a gaming podcast, Frog 2 reveals he hasn't played a video game in 4 years, and that's only becase Frog A forced him to play Metroid Prime.
• Plant Person: Subverted with Doobus, despite looking like he could be a person made out of broccoli, he is actually "a toxic goo that grew out of the earth" that just so happened to look like one.
• Prized Possession Giveaway: In "Jimbo’s Gift", Hugh Neutron passes down his Reddit account ^note Which has the distinction of having the most upvoted post in the site's history to Jimmy.
• Propeller Hat of Whimsy: Tails wears a small propeller hat, fitting given his baby-like appearance.
• Punny Title: Sora's sex education tape is named The Birds and the Keys; a pun on "the birds and the bees", as well as referencing the Keyblades found in his home series.
• Real Life Writes the Plot:
  • Or rather, negates the plot. In "Creepy Stranger Sonichu", which is supposed to symbolize Sonichu's creator Chris Chan, Doobus abruptly interrupts the cartoon to say that Chan was bailed out of prison while he was making the cartoon, and that he has no idea how to end it.
  • Taken literally in "I used Tinder once", where every line up until "You're succeeding at fucking with me. I'll give you that." was an actual conversation Doobus had over Tinder.
• Real Trailer, Fake Movie: invoked Parodied in "Doobus Goobus: The Movie! (Trailer)", a trailer for an upcoming Cliché Storm of 2010s live-action/CGI hybrid films starring Doobus. In this supposed film, Doobus is Trapped in Another World (which naturally sends him to the middle of times square in New York), he has to get back before midnight, he must be arbitrarily hidden from other humans for no discernable reason, he dances to rap music, New York State itself is voiced by Awkwafina and T.J. Miller, etc. It was even created by the director of The Smurfs (2011), itself a Cliché Storm that has many of these things. And to top it all off, it apparently released on April 4th, 1983, long before Doobus was even born.
• Riddle for the Ages:
  • What was the game Frog A likes that everyone else doesn’t?
  • What was the 53rd State and what happened to it?
• Running Gag: Almost all of his animations dealing with sexual themes feature ads for Adam & Eve, an online retailer that sells sex toys.
• Sacred Scripture: Parodied. Frog 2 claims his hatred for women stems from "the Gamer Code", written by "God". Frog A is quick to points out the Gamer Code is actually the manifesto of a mentally insane man who killed his ex-wife by throwing her into the Frogs' pond.
• Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: In "The Foolish Samurai Warrior!", Samurai Jack admits to Aku that he doesn't know how to count since he spent his twenty-year education exclusively learning how to swordfight.^note In pilot episode of the actual show, the protagonist is seen studying a variety of both combative and non-combative skills from teachers around the known world at that time, including what are implied to be reading, writing, and math from Egyptian scholars.
• Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In Foster's Home for Unspeakable Horrors, Mac isn't happy with Bloo admitting he liked the sight of "the friends you're not supposed to show to kids".
  Mac: Mr. Herriman! You're good to put Bloo up for adoption! I'm done! (Books it)
• Screw Yourself: In "Chun Li's Legs", Zangief and his alternate skin engage in a "battle of tongue" in celebration of resisting the temptations of Chun-Li's legs.
• Self-Made Orphan: In "Green Man in a Green Blizzard", Gilgamesh (along with two clones) group up to kill Goobus for neglecting them.
• Serial Escalation: The first four shorts of the Winnie the Pooh saga. The first short involves Doobus trying to get Pooh to leave a store. In the following shorts, Pooh rises the ranks to become the CEO of the aforementioned store, to the President of the United States, to King of the World to Galactic Emperor with control over reality itself.
• Seven Deadly Sins: "The Seven Stupid Sins", as the title suggests, features Doobus's Anthropomorphic Personifications of them.
  • Gluttony is a comically round pink girl with a thick German accent who's nice enough to share her food (after all, she has an infinite amount).
  • Wrath is a red, fuzzy clover with a sailor hat and pipe who complains about millennials. He of course has a Hair-Trigger Temper that is bad enough for him to be annoyed by people agreeing with him. To some extent, he's a Corrupted Character Copy of Popeye, considering his sailor aesthetic and love of spinach. He's also Greed's ex-husband.
  • Sloth is a green stoner who lies of the ground and appears boneless. She's too lazy to think of good counter arguments, blissfully agreeing with negative comments on her and will allow either Pride or Lust to have sex with her because she's too lazy to object.
  • Pride is a yellow Jerk Jock with a Johnny Bravo-esque voice whose reflection serves as a wingman, not to mention a self-admitted sexist who brags about his romantic success with Greed and Sloth while mocking Gluttony for being fat.
  • Lust is a white neckbeard Occidental Otaku constantly holding a dakimakura and refers to different types of women as "porn categories".
  • Greed is a purple Obnoxious Entitled Housewife Rich Bitch with a chihuahua in her purse and loads of lawsuit money that she gets from suing the other sins at every opportunity. She's identified as being the most evil of the seven by far.
  • Envy is a light teal beggar in rags who finds himself unable to appreciate when something's finally given to him, much to his regret.
• Shallow Parody: Invoked and parodied in "Hazbin Hotel for People Who Don't Want to Watch It". At face value, the animation gets a multitude of glaring things wrong about Hazbin Hotel (such as claiming that the show espouses Cure Your Gays; Charlie resembling Charlie from Smiling Friends and drinking nondescript "Hell Juice"; Angel Dust being in Hell for gay sex instead of murder, being redeemed into Heaven first instead of Sir Pentious, and inexplicably sounding like a cross between Gilbert Gottfried and a Dalek; etc.). However, it's clear from the video title that either A) Doobus is deliberately creating a bunch of very surface-level jokes about the show based on his and others' very limited knowledge of it, which usually doesn't extend beyond "Cast Full of Gay + set in Hell", or B) it's meant to be a satirical commentary about how frequently critics get basic facts about the show wrong and how it's often subject to very surface-level parodies in general. Ironically, some commentators have called the parody tame compared to the actual show, as they argue it uses a lower rate of strong language/sex jokes, doesn't abuse Angel Dust enough, etc.
• Shown Their Work: invoked As people have pointed out in the comments, "The Undertaker and his Tiny Father" is startlingly accurate concerning The Undertaker's lore, such as Paul Bearer being Kane's biological father (somehow)^note Doobus mistakenly believed that this also meant that Bearer was Undertaker's father, which is incorrect and shows up in the animation, but he posted a correction about this in the description. and his hatred of cucumbers.
• Smash Cut: "Ace Attorney for Those Who Haven't Played It" involves one in the middle of Phoenix giving an overly convoluted explanation of the last time Maya was out of containment and he had to gather evidence to prove her innocence again:
  Phoenix: ... so excuse me if I don't trust you to be unsupervi—
  Judge: (as Phoenix blinks and immediately finds himself and Maya in the courtroom) We are here for the trial of Maya Fey for nuking the country of Turkey.
  Phoenix: I LITERALLY BLINKED! HOW CAN YOU GET ACCUSED OF THAT WHILE I WAS BLINKING?
• Slime Boy: Doobus is, quote, "a toxic goo that grew out of the earth."
• Sorry, I'm Gay: The thumbnail of "Harley Quinn is not very smart" shows the Joker responding to Harley's advances with, "I like men." It's not clear if he genuinely means it or if he's only saying it as a defense mechanism.
• Soup Is Medicine: Soup turns out to be the answer to all of Mr. Freeze's problems in "Mr. Freeze gets a Happy Ending."
• Straw Misogynist: Frog 2 from the "Gamer Frogs" series is very open about his hatred for women. His Straight Man friend openly ridicules him for this.
• Stylistic Suck: In "This Video is Terrible on Purpose", the art style is done in a deliberately bad manner, with the characters being drawn simplistically and their colors scribbled both inside and outside of their outlines like a crayon drawing, to represent Doobus' listing of things that he sarcastically considers Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad.
• Super-Strong Child: Doobus' infant son Gilgamesh was able to enter a wrestling championship and win the world title.
• Tap on the Head: Mickey Mouse does this to Sora in "Kingdom Hearts Sex Ed" with an I-beam to stop him from teaching sex education. However, Sora is merely inconvenienced and still lucid enough to try and reason with Mickey without realizing he's talking to the corporate mascot rather than his KH self.
• Token Good Teammate: Of the Seven Stupid Sins, Gluttony is the only one that's actually friendly, asking how Wrath is doing and eagerly giving Envy a slice of her infinite cake when he asks. Sloth is also rather tame in comparison to the others, though this is mostly due to inherently being too lazy to disagree with them. This compared to Wrath yelling at Gluttony and Sloth for no real reason, Pride womanizing Sloth, Lust's sexism even surprising Pride's, Greed forcefully refusing to let Envy have any of her copious amounts of money and Envy remarking that he hates Gluttony's cake, although he does realize that he's being a bitch in doing so.
• Transparent Closet: In Lust And Sloth - Seven Stupid Sins, Lust throws away his entire computer (or more accurately, has Gluttony eat it) after Sloth asks Lust how he knows the AI generated image of people wearing bird costumes (that are actually just birds and not people wearing bird costumes) are women in the costumes and not men, explicitly saying "Now nobody will know that I like penis!"
  Sloth: (Beat) I don't think people care if you're gay
  Lust: THE LORD DOES!!
• Tranquil Fury: In "Lilo and Stitch, But Disney Ruined It", Stitch calmly proclaims that he is going to kill Bob Iger after being distressed by the changes done to Jumba (who no longer has his Russian accent and is the Big Bad) and Lilo (who tells Stitch that she is going to foster care so that her sister Nani can go to college overseas) caused by the remake.
• True Art Is Angsty: Discussed in "Mario Discusses the Movies", where Mario says his favorite movie is RoboCop (1987) and gushes about how violent and dark it is, before asking Luigi what his favorite movie is. Luigi nervously says that it's Muppet Treasure Island, expecting Mario to mock or criticize him for it. To his relief, though, Mario says that that's a great movie in its own right, and that we should judge movies based on what they're trying to accomplish:
  Mario: "One's trying to be cynical, the other's trying to be whimsical, and they both do a great job!"
• Uplifted Animal: In "The Horrors of Pikmin", the act of Louie eating a Pikmin is so horrific that a Bulborb (a mindless beast that eats Pikmin as its main diet, mind you) was able to evolve to full sapience just so it could comprehend what it has witnessed and the concept of fear upon witnessing it.
• Unusual Euphemism: In "Kingdom Hearts Sex Ed", Sora teaches sex education using KH metaphors, referring to genitals as either Keyblades (penises) or Keyholes (vaginas), and using the Darkness as an euphemism for STDs.
• Vocal Dissonance: While Hornet has a confident, womanly voice in her game proper, in "Hollow Knight For People Who Haven't Played It", she's only a couple steps away from sounding exactly like Rolf.
• What Does She See in Him?: In "Harley and Ivy are Great Friends", Ivy tries to coax an explanation out of Harley as to why she's still obsessed with the Joker and won't leave him despite being a horrible partner. The only reason she gives is that "He's the Joker, (baybee)", which is a quote that came from a funny video she saw of a cosplayer and immediately went to find the Joker. She also adds on the fact that she can't have sex with a head in a pot, to which Ivy concedes.
• Yank the Dog's Chain:

  • In "The Chaotix Neighbors (& Knuckles)", Charmy eats the comically-sized crowbar that Vector was going to use to get Charmy out of Knuckles' head:

    Vector: Charmy, I don't think bees eat crowbars.

  • In "Chun Li's Legs", a forlorn-looking Cammy confesses to being a lesbian and asks if Chun-Li is one too. Chun-Li kisses Cammy on the cheek, with a moment of silence before Chun-Li responds with a Little "No" and kicks the heartbroken Cammy.
