Taiwan Coolfox is a beat 'em up platformer designed by TSAI,JIE-TING and TSAI,KAI-SHIUN.The game focuses on the Cobang and Shooki as they fight their way through armies of monkeys to save their friends.
The game ended up becoming notable online due in part to how Cobang looks exactly like a certain fox from Sonic the Hedgehog.
Tropes:
- Captain Ersatz: Cobang is visually based on Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. However, he doesn't really act like Tails.
- Cats Are Mean: While Shooki is fully on Cobang's side, there is also a tiger and a lion that serve as bosses that the two have to fight.
- Excuse Plot: The game doesn't have any actual story so to speak with even the developers saying there isn't a story. It's just Cobang and Shooki fighting evil monkeys.
- Expy: The crocodile enemies on the pirate level are clearly based on King K. Rool and the Kremlings from Donkey Kong Country series.
- Metropolis Level: One of the levels is an urban level full of simian gang members.
- Killer Gorilla: One boss ends up being a gorilla rapper.
- Never Smile at a Crocodile: Among the bosses that Cobang and Shooki fight is an alligator pirate.
- Rhino Rampage: One of the bosses in the game is a Rhino.
