Tropes featured in this game include:
- Action Girl: Minnie accompanies her boyfriend and also fights.
- Auto-Scrolling Level: Several. Either to the right, upwards or downwards.
- Bears Are Bad News: Bears serve as enemies.
- Big Bad: Mickey's usual arch-enemy, Big Bad Pete.
- Boss-Arena Idiocy: The battle against Pete features an infinite set of blocks to throw at him.
- Bully Bulldog: Bulldog enemies are numerous in the first level.
- Cowardly Boss: During the final level, Pete comes over at certain points to throw stuff at the player and then runs away. You can only fight back at the end of the level.
- Everything Trying to Kill You: So what's up with those iron barrels bouncing over spikes on Stage 5?
- Evil Is Petty: What does Pete want with Minnie's Present? Why did he steal it? Because he's a jerk.
- Excuse Plot: Pete is being a dick again and has stolen Minnie's present. You have to get it back.
- Goomba Stomp: Averted. You can only attack by throwing blocks. You can stand on top of bear enemies unharmed in one level, though.
- Invincibility Power-Up: A block featuring a potion.
- Jerkass: Pete as usual. He steals Mickey's gift for Minnie just to be a jerk.
- Law of 100: A 1-Up for every 100 star blocks.
- Level Goal: Meeting Goofy at the end of each level is the goal. Evidently he knows where all the good shortcuts are.
- Platform Hell: The platforming gets rather demanding towards the end.
- The Reveal: Mickey's gift for Minnie turns out to be a pet bird.
- Running Gag: Each level ends with Goofy warning Mickey and Minnie that Pete has run away, while the duo assure Goofy they'll catch him next time. It gets old pretty fast, but the number of different lines they came up with for this single situation is at least commendable.
- Spikes of Doom: A common hazard.
- Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Pete runs away crying at the end.
