The game begins with an Office Lady named Seri as she arrives to work one day only to find that something's amiss. Suddenly a strange colorful dog comes up to her from nowhere, tells her it's time to take action, transforms her into a Magical Girl and informs the young woman that's now up to her to save her colleagues from being corrupted by despair. As it turns out, the dog is an entity from another dimension sent to Earth to fix a disruption in space-time that's affecting the building and has recruited Seri in her efforts to bring normalcy back to the workplace.

Lovely Fracture has examples of the following tropes:
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: The technician's dog and cat forms are a bright shade of sky blue.
- Ambiguous Gender: Seri's boss Morgan is usually referred to by they/them. Strangely, a few of their boss battle descriptors use she/her pronouns.
- Bittersweet Ending: One that leans more into the'sweet' side of things. While the technician returns to her world and Seri loses her powers after the final fight with Morgan, the company's employees slowly learn to appreciate the simpler pleasures in life to alleviate the stresses of their workload.
- Blob Monster: Most of the corrupted co-workers take the form of these.
- Blue Is Heroic: The technician has light blue fur/scales and while easily annoyed at times, was sent to Earth to properly stabilize a distortion between worlds so it won't disrupt reality further and is genuinely courteous to Seri during the short time they know each other.
- Cooldown Hug: What properly turns Morgan back to their human self by Seri after the latter lands her finishing blow on the former's corrupted form
- Curtains Match the Windows: Seri has dark brown hair and eyes, both of which turn bright pink as a magical girl.
- Deliberately Monochrome: Aside from the opening and closing CGs, the Transformation Sequence and Series magical form plus the technician's sprites in the overworld map, the game's environment, other sprites and battle stage are in black-and-white.
- Exotic Eye Designs: The technician's pupils are shaped like stars. It's the only aspects of hers' that gets retained alongside her blue coloration across all 3 of her animal forms.
- Fish Out of Water: The technician is confused at the concept of key cards when trying to open the door leading to the main source of space-time distortion.
- Forced Transformation: Both the office workers and Seri are turned into their alternate forms by the rift in space time augmenting their stress levels and the Mentor Mascot, respectively.
- Frills of Justice: Seri's magical girl outfit consists of a puffy dress with off-shoulder puffs and gloves with bows on them.
- Involuntary Shapeshifting: The technician physical appearance changes several times over the course of the story due to her wanting inherent magic supply, starting out as a dog before changing into a cat then finally becoming a snake.
- Magic Wand: Seri is given one that has a bow tied on the handle and the top shaped like a rabbit's head with a large red gem at the center by the technician to cast light spells.
- Magical Girl: Seri becomes one to help the space-time technician resolve the crisis happening in the former's workplace.
- Mini-Boss: The receptionist and Jonathan are this, both having distinctive designs and important items needed to advance to the Final Boss.
- No Name Given: Apart from Seri, her co-worker Jonathan and their boss, Morgan; the other office workers, the receptionist nor the other world technician have their names go unmentioned.
- One-Winged Angel: Morgan's corrupted form starts out more conventional presenting, as the battle progresses, they become more eldritch with Floating Limbs and a more vicious attack pattern.
- The Only One: The technician specifies that Seri, being the one person in her office to still have hope in her, was what made her an ideal candidate to save her workplace.
- Out-of-Character Alert: When entering her office building, Seri notices that the receptionist isn't at the front desk as per usual, this being the first sign something isn't right with the place.
- Parrot Pet Position: The technician, in her snake form, takes a spot on Seri's shoulder when the latter admits that she doesn't go into the Final Battle alone..
- Pink Heroine: Seri wears a pink and white dress and her hair and eyes tinted the same shade of pink as a magical girl.
- Power Dyes Your Hair: Series dark brown hair becomes bubblegum pink when transformed.
- Sink-or-Swim Mentor: The technician had to put a Forced Transformation on Seri in the hopes that she could ascertain the latter being able to fight in a pinch and the former apologizes for the suddenness of the situation after the first/tutorial battle ends.
- Status Buff: The technician uses her powers to keep Seri's health points from hitting zero during the Final Battle.
- Stress Vomit: Jonathan does this shortly after Seri returns him to his normal form.
- Techno Babble: How the technician explains the concepts of magic in her universe and her Involuntary Shapeshifting to Seri. Naturally, this flies over the latter's head with the former having to break what she's talking about into simple layman's terms to get the point across.
- Transformation Sequence: Seri has one just after her Mentor Mascot grants her magic. It goes by very fast to the point the sequence itself acts as a Freeze-Frame Bonus
