Dragon Story is a mobile game made by Storm8.
You play as a dragon caretaker where you raise and breed dragons on an island. Your goal is to collect as many dragons as possible, unlock new types, grow food, and raise them to be strong.
As this an Idle Game, your main mechanics such as breeding and growing crops will take time to do. They can take as little time as thirty seconds to 44 hours.
Dragon Story includes examples of:
- Allegedly Free Game: The game is free to download. However, you can buy gold, which is used to complete tasks faster.
- Creature-Breeding Mechanic: Your main goal is to breed your dragons with each other and get rare breeds. If you want to avoid spending money, you need to breed certain types in order to get a new one such as a Fire and Water Dragon create a Magic Dragon. The dragons must be at least level four in order to pair them up with each other.
- Gotta Catch 'Em All: The primary purpose of the game is to collect as many dragons as possible. You can mainly get them through breeding, but you can also buy them or you can craft them.
- Luck-Based Mission: You rely on luck to get rarer dragons. You can enhance your chances by using 12 gold bars to potentially increase your chances of getting a dragon you want.
- No Antagonist: There’s no threat in the game. It’s just you breeding dragons, collecting money from their habitats, farming, and battling in the coliseum.
- No Biological Sex: The dragons aren’t identified as male or female. This allows easier breeding since you don’t have to worry about matching a male and female.
- Reward for Removal: You can send away your dragons through the Dragon Portal. Your reward is Dragon Essence, which you can use to craft dragons in the codex. The higher the rarity, the more essence you get. You can also sell dragons for a small price of 100 silver.
