Clea is a Survival Horror Video Game by InvertMouse.
Clea is a young girl celebrating her birthday with her brother, Edmond, and the family servant, Florine. During the celebrations, the three are interrupted by the sound of growling, which Florine goes to investigate. After she leaves, Clea confides in her brother that she senses a chaos servant nearby. So, Clea and Edmond set out to make sure that their parents and Florine are safe.
The game was released on July 10th, 2019.
Clea contains examples of:
- Apocalyptic Log: These take the form of letters taped to walls, and diaries.
- Birthday Beginning: Clea is celebrating her birthday with Edmond and Florine at the start of the game.
- Chekhov's Gun: In addition to the keys needed to move forward to the next level, there are additional keys that unlock the bedrooms at the end. Unlocking those rooms and playing through each scenario within will grant you an upgrade and all three need to be completed in order to unlock the best ending.
- Eyeless Face: The chaos spiders have no eyes.
- Face–Heel Turn: Florine frees the Chaos Servants and helps them escape to attack the mansion and start this mess.
- Golden Ending: There are three endings, but the only happy one requires you to find extra keys that unlock the family members’ bedrooms and play through their scenarios.
- In the Hood: Chaos servants wear hooded cloaks.
- Lock and Key Puzzle: The door to clear the level needs to be unlocked with the key. The keys are separated into three pieces, so you need to find and put the keys together.
- Love Makes You Evil: Florine betrayed Clea, the family, and her friends in hopes of protecting Clea’s Mom. It fails in the first game, though she gets a second chance to rescue her in the sequel.
- Love Redeems: In the best ending, Clea forgives War Maiden and chooses to guide her away from chaos.
- Mama Bear: Clea’s mother loves her enough to take part in experiments that harm her in order to find a cure for Clea’s possession. When she becomes corrupted, she warns Clea and even blinds herself to try and protect her.
- The Noseless: Chaos spiders.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: Clea. It's game over if a chaos servant catches her.
- One-Word Title: Clea, obviously.
- Protagonist Title: Clea is the girl that you play as.
- Save Point: Birthday cakes serve this role in the game.
- Save Token: You need to use candles to save at the birthday cakes, but they are rare and difficult to find.
