The main purpose of the mod is to add realistic insects and other arthropods, as well as stalking bosses, including the Spider Moth, the Scorpioid Bloodluster and the Draconic Voidlasher. It also adds a new dimension called the Crawling, where the TORMENTOR can be freed from.

Tropes:
- Alliterative Name: Many of the mobs have this name theming, including the Crab Constrictor, the Mantis Mutilator, the Spider Snatcher and the Hornet Harbinger.
- Animalistic Abomination: The bosses all qualify, being giant insects with god-like powers, the TORMENTOR more so.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: The main purpose of the mod is to add giant insects as hostile mobs, with special mentions to the bosses, the TORMENTOR easily being the biggest of the lot.
- Degraded Boss: Downplayed in that they're still powerful and are technically stronger than their original counterparts, but the stalker bosses return as minions summoned by the TORMENTOR.
- Dramatic Thunder: The stalker bosses can only spawn during rain or thunder.
- Giant Enemy Crab: The Crab Constrictor is a crab miniboss with large limbs.
- Glowing Eyes of Doom: Many of the mobs, such as the Spider Moth, have glowing white eyes and are hostile.
- Horse of a Different Color: You can tame and ride some of the insects the mod adds. You can even summon a weaker but still powerful versions of the Spider Moth and TORMENTOR.
- Jumpscare: The three main bosses can jumpscare the player with a brief image of it close up in your face with a loud noise, mainly when spawning, being detected while stalking you or killing you or nearby creatures.
- Mind Over Matter: The Draconic Voidlasher has the ability to use telekinesis, which it uses to its advantage when fighting the player.
- Mind Rape: The TORMENTOR's main ability is to "torment" a certain player, leading to it raining spiders on their head, summoning swarms of locusts around them, spawning amped versions of various arthropods nearby, and a cycle where it flashes repeatedly on the screen and strikes lightning down upon them.
- Mix-and-Match Critters: The main three bosses are mixtures of various insects:
- The Spider Moth, true to its name, is a mix of a spider and a moth.
- The Scorpioid Bloodluster is a mix of a scorpion and a mosquito.
- The Draconic Voidlasher is a mix of a tailless whip scorpion and a dragonfly.
- Spiders Are Scary: Compared to the Spiders in vanilla Minecraft, the ones that this mod adds are much bigger and realistically designed.
- Stalker Without a Crush: The main three bosses can stalk you throughout their respective dimension before jumpscaring and attacking you if you see them.
- Weakened by the Light: Having a Bane of the Darkness in your inventory can make the bosses a lot easier, such as weakening the Spider Moth.
