HAL's Over-clocking Chamber

After HAL takes Apple and his team into a chamber, he activates the chamber and slowly starts to raise the power level of it. He reveals that the chamber is designed to send out a pulse that slowly over-clocks the systems of any Sym present within, heating their transistors to a point where they will stop operating and burn up, killing the Syms in the process. At least, it would have, had Tux and Windows's GF not shown up in the nick of time and interrupted the process, saving everyone from certain death.
