  • Acting for Two:
    • Rove McManus voices The Mutt, Dr. Knutt, and Hodad.
    • Brian Dobson voices both Maurice/Headache and Lost Patrol.
    • The Murmurmaids are Kazumi Evans and Kelly Sheridan, who also voice Jan and Widget respectively.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Patrick Crawley as Mad Madge, plus Elishia Perosa as Dean.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: The movie and series use a mixture of Canadian and Australian voice actors.
  • Descended Creator:
    • Co-creator Patrick Crawley voices Mad Madge, the diner waitress, as well as Teddles the trailer monster.
    • Crossing over with Pop-Star Composer: Tripod not only does the movie's theme song and most of its other musical numbers, but also provides the voices for Dr. Knutt's Tikis. Incidentally, one Tripod member, Scott Edgar, had previously appeared on Exchange Student Zero as Principal Rogerson.
  • Role Reprise: Pretty much all the voice actors for the TV movie reprise their characters for the full series.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The TV series was originally announced to run for 52 eleven-minute episodes, with the premiere intended to be a remake of the Made-for-TV Movie. For unknown reasons, said pilot did not air on television, and the show only ran for 48 episodes.
    • The 2016 pilot for the TV series reveals that the show was originally intended to use the same artstyle as the movie, with the characters also being more like their movies counterparts in appearance and/or personality (such as Jan and Dean having more of their movie characterizations and dynamic or Uncle Woody still retaining the deed to the beach). However, elements from the final product are also sprinkled here and there, like Butterfield owning half of the island and Headache wearing his head a necklace
