- Luther is introduced wearing a Cone of Shame with baggy eyes. He initially tries to pretend everything's fine to his friends, but soon breaks down crying, revealing that he's been recently neutered. He reveals that after his owners threw him a wild party void of rules, they end up castrating him the following morning, treating it as a traumatic experience. As Luther puts it, "I thought they loved me". Then his friend, Sterling comes by to twist the knife further by dumping him. Sterling: (smug) That was yesterday. Today, you're a mutilated freak. - Before returning home from the park, Bull glances at Honey with Sterling one last time, feeling insecure about the latter mocking his feelings by putting him in his place.
- After Honey and Sterling are announced the winners of the dog show, Bull chickens out confessing his feelings for the former and sadly leaves, too depressed to do anything else fun.
- After Honey wins, the other female borzois break down, largely blaming themselves for losing, several beating themselves up for eating.
- The moment Honey walks in on Bull seemingly mating with another female borzoi named Molasses, just as she realizes her feelings for him. She's heartbroken because she thought Bull would be different and leaves him at the pound without a glance, making him realize how much he's screwed up his chances with her.
