Leaps in Evolution is a 2015 documentary produced by NHK that was released on Curiosity Stream. It focuses both on prehistoric life and the evolution of certain features.
This documentary contains examples of:
- Art Evolution: The CGI is a huge improvement from NHK's previous Dino doc, Life After Dinosaurs.
- Artistic License – Paleontology: Quite a bit.
- The Troodon, along with being potentially dubious, is portrayed as a scaly creature with pronated hands, straight out of the 1980s.
- The Day the Dinosaurs Died: Episode 3 shows the asteroid hitting the Earth, at the end of the Cretaceous.
- Raptor Attack: Scaly, downwards-facing handed Troodon. That is all.
- Roger Rabbit Effect: The CG creatures occasionally interact with the talking heads.
- Stock Footage: A clip of Coelophysis and Adelobasileus from Life After Dinosaurs appears in Episode 2.
