Finn, Jake and Ice King travel to the new Ice Kingdom to confront the person responsible for the changes.
Tropes:
- Bait-and-Switch: As the one who started the whole mess, you might think Patience would be the Arc Villain of the miniseries. However, she never intended things to get this out of control and didn't realize she and the other elementals would be consumed by their elements and emotions when she cast her spell. When she "confronts" Finn and Jake, she basically just admits to it and lets them go without issue, too depressed to do anything.
- Black Comedy: Ice King dropping a frozen penguin, where it lands with a distinct shattering sound.
- Comical Overreacting: Ice King freaks out when Finn puts on a sweater with his own face, apparently thinking Finn had literally grown a second head.Ice King: Oh, I get it. The top one's fake!
- Continuity Nod: Finn encounters an ice version of Carol the Cloud Woman from "The Tower".
- Evil Laugh: Betty after getting the Enchiridion. Ice King laughs along just to feel included.
- Fisher Kingdom: It seems that even spending too long in one of the elemental kingdoms can cause someone to start morphing into that element.
- Foreshadowing; While minor in the grand scheme of things, Jake nearly gets turned into an ice person, who are shown to be openly depressed. The following episode would have Jake confess to being a Stepford Smiler.
- Gone Horribly Right: Patience's intention was to tap into the full potential of the princess' elemental powers. It worked a little too well.
- Les Collaborateurs: Carol rats out Finn, Jake, and Ice King to Patience because she "has a good thing here" after becoming a solid ice person.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Patience St. Pim is shown feeling remorse over her actions. She never intended for any of this to happen. Unfortunately, the depression from her out of control element means she can't bring herself to do anything about it.
- Shatterpoint Tap: As Finn falls towards the ice dome covering Ice Kingdom, he draws his sword and aims it at the top, so that the tip shatters a hole on the top for him, Jake and Ice King to fall through.
- Theme Naming: Those transformed into ice versions of themselves take on new names reflective of their gloomy state. Ex, Choose Goose is now Achoose Goose.
- Villainous BSoD: The normally enthusiastic and determined Patience is so demoralized by what her spell did she becomes extremely depressed and listless (though that partially seems to be related to her strong connection to ice as an element), which seems to spread to almost everyone who got iced.
- What Would X Do?: Finn gets the idea for the Shatterpoint Tap move above after asking himself what Rattleballs, his old sword-fighting mentor, would do.
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: Patience's spell to tap into the full potential of the elemental princess's powers worked, but the very same power also consumed their minds.
