That Cloud Looks Like...

Go To

That cloud looks like a vast aggregation of water droplets.
—The Tree of Wisdom, Plants vs. Zombies.

I will never understand the human need to find imagery in something as innocuous as a cloud.

If you open up your eyes / Looking high into the skies / Wondrous things, imaginings, come soaring by and by!
— "Imaginings" song, PB&J Otter

Alan "The Brain" Powers: That cloud looks like an amoeba.
Binky Barnes: It looks more like a swab without a stick.
The Brain: Concentrate! Surely you see an amoeba!
Binky: I don't see an amoeba!
Arthur, "Waiting to Go"

Xander's Friend: That one looks like a bust of Beethoven
Except, it's more like Bach
Xander: And instead of a bust it has arms and legs and a torso
Both: I guess it kinda just looks like Bach
— "Looking at Clouds", Off Book: The Improvised Musical

Darwin: This is what I do when I feel blue. I look at the clouds and see that even the darkest ones eventually drift away. And it's fun 'cause they make shapes. Like that one. It looks like a hat.
Richard: A hat like my father's.
Darwin: Uh, sure.
Anais: How about that one? It's like a horseshoe.
Richard: Shoes are for walking. Like he walked out on me.
[Anais sighs]
Gumball: Well, how about that one? It looks like a [realized he pointed at a rat-shaped cloud]… Oh.
Richard: Looks like a popsicle.
Gumball: Oh. Uh… I— I guess.
Richard: Popsicles are cold like the Arctic Ocean. And that's cold because it's got lots of icebergs in it. That's why it's dangerous for ships. Because icebergs sink ships. And what's the first thing to leave a sinking ship? A rat.
[Gumball, Anais and Darwin groan]
Richard: And rats are covered with fleas, just like my father "flea'd" from me.
Gumball: Yeah, we got it. You could have stopped at "rat."

Kiara: Oh, look! There's one that looks like a baby rabbit. See the fluffy tail?
Kovu: Yeah... Hey! There's one that looks like two lions killing each other for a scrap of meat. (laughs while Kiara looks at him awkwardly) I've never done this before.
Kiara: Really? My father and I used to do this all the time. He says all the Great Kings of the past are up there.
Kovu: Do you think Scar is up there?
(Kiara looks at him with confusion; an embarrassed Kovu gets up and starts walking away)
Kovu: He wasn't my father, but he was still... part of me.
Kiara: (walks up to him) My father said there was a... a darkness... in Scar that he couldn't escape.
Kovu: Maybe there's a darkness in me, too.

Hamlet: Do you see yonder cloud that’s almost in shape of a camel?
Polonius: By th' Mass, and 'tis like a camel indeed.
Hamlet: Methinks it is like a weasel.
Polonius: It is backed like a weasel.
Hamlet: Or like a whale.
Polonius: Very like a whale.
