Like its sister franchise, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai tends to celebrate Milestone Celebrations with teams that mimick past series:- GoGo Sentai Boukenger vs. Super Sentai started it off with the solitary AkaRednote , a visual homage to the original Akarenger who embodies the Red Warrior Spirit and so can transform into past Red Rangers and summon their weapons at will.
- In Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, the heroes have a stash of Ranger Keys, which unlock the powers of previous Sentai teams and allow the Gokaigers to transform into previous Rangers. The Gokaigers' weapons, which are naturally a Sword and Gun, themselves transform into weapons of the past Sentai along with the Gokaigers.
- The weapons changing becomes a plot point in #32, when Doc assembles the teams' weapons in his work to create a stronger weapon. This forces the Gokaigers to use the powers of Sentai who specialize in hand-to-hand combat, such as Gekiranger.
- The Red Ranger's Evil Former Friend, Basco ta Jolokia, stole some of the keys before the series begun, and can summon evil copies of Rangers by inserting them into his trumpet weapon and playing it.
- Of course, when both Kamen Rider and Super Sentai crossed over in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen, one of the main selling points was Kamen Rider Decade (who can similarly copy powers from his own franchise) and GokaiRed using their copied powers against each other.
- In Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, the Ninningers gain Nin Shuriken from the previous Sentai Ninja Red Rangers, with Ninja Red's Kakuranger Shuriken granting them Self-Duplication and Hurricane Red's Hurricaneger Shuriken granting them Super-Speed. They even get a Shuriken off of another non-Sentai toku hero, Jiraya from Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya, which empowers their Humongous Mecha with the flames of Jiraishin.
- In Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger VS Lupinranger VS Patranger, Noël Takao (Lupin X / Patren X) creates Lupin RyuSouls which allow Ryusoul Red, Blue and Pink to transform into Lupin Red, Blue, and Yellow. The reason for this being Ganima the Gangler who, as a Status Quintuple Gold, is fitted with five safes (each holding one of the Ryusoulgers' Kishiryu partners hostage) which each require two Dial Fighters to open. Since the Lupinrangers do not have enough Dial Fighters naturally, the Lupin Souls serve to duplicate the three Lupinrangers' personal Dial Fighters in order to fit the bill.
- In Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger:
- Each Zenkaiger has powers themed around a specific past Sentai, and they can also use Sentai Gears to use special attacks and abilities from other Sentai teams. These can be subject to New Powers as the Plot Demands, showing different abilities with different uses; as well as Rule of Funny — the most absurd being the Akibaranger Gear, based on a Metafiction-heavy Official Parody, causing enemies to trigger Event Flags signaling their impending defeat; and the Jetman Gear making the cast re-enact that series' final scenes with the monster in the role of Gai (meaning it gets shanked out of nowhere).
- The Evil Counterpart Stacaesar uses his own Dark Sentai Gears which, like Basco, he uses to summon evil copies of the previous Rangers, and after receiving an upgrade for his powerset, he's able to summon red Rangers in their SuperModes.
- While not an anniversary series like Gokaiger and Zenkaiger, the Avataro Sentai Donbrothers can also transform into prior Rangers, much like the Gokaigers. In this case, their Ranger forms are portrayed as Digital Avatars and they're just switching the avatar they're using. Unlike the Gokaigers, the Donbrothers have some slight limitations; in that the main team can only transform into a previous member of their same color,note and Sixth Ranger Don Doragoku/Torabolt can become other Sixth Rangers (which means Inu and Kiji Brother, Black and Pink respectively, have a more limited selection since not all teams share those colors).
- In No.1 Sentai Gozyuger, another anniversary season:
- The previous Sentai powers have been scattered and claimed by various random people. These people (termed "Universe Warriors") and the Gozyugers technically access the powers and weapons of the whole team, though those powers primarily manifest as those of the Red Rangers.note These powers also come with an additional ability that the original team may not have actually used, but is thematically relevant (for instance, the animal-themed Gaoranger powers includes a beast-taming ability); and if multiple powers are collected then these extra abilities can be stacked on top of whatever copied powers are already in use.
- Like Basco and Stacaesar, the Evil Counterpart Ring Hunter Garyudo uses the Rings to summon evil copies of Rangers rather than transforming into them, with the additional buff of turning them into equippable weapons by shooting them.
