Basic Trope: Someone skilled with both magic and science.
- Straight: Bob is a theoretical physicist who moonlights as a dimension-hopping warlock.
- Exaggerated: Bob is an Omnidisciplinary Scientist who has access to all forms of magic.
- Downplayed: Bob is a chemistry grad who owns a book of spells.
- Justified:
- Magic Is Mental, so a character with high intelligence could easily use it.
- Mainstream science focuses on observations and measurements, while magic focuses on intuition and experience.
- Inverted: ???
- Subverted: Bob turns out to be a standard stage magician, a side-gig for his work in theoretical physics.
- Double Subverted: ...Which turns out to be his cover story so that his enemies don't find him out.
- Parodied: Bob has the exact look and demeanor of a Wizard Classic, insisting that he wear his pointy hat during nuclear experiments. His co-workers are rarely amused.
- Lampshaded: "A scientist and a wizard, huh? Bet your life never gets boring..."
- Discussed: "People love Science Heroes. People love wizards. Combining them would double the cool factor!"
