Somethin' tells me I'm into something good"
Herman's Hermits were a British Invasion band fronted by Peter Noone which recorded many hits of The '60s, including but not limited to "I'm Into Something Good," "No Milk Today," and "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter." They also had three movies and released over five albums, selling a staggering eighty-million records, and they're still around to this day.
Tropes:
- Break-Up Song: The minor-key "No Milk Today."
- Cover Version: Several, including "I'm Into Something Good" (originally by Earl-Jean), "Silhouettes" (originally by the Rays),"Wonderful World" (originally by Sam Cooke), and "Dandy" (originally by The Kinks).
- Happily Married: Peter has been married to Mirelle Strasser since 1968.
- Have a Gay Old Time: "The company was gay" from "No Milk Today".
- I Am the Band: Peter Noone. Subverted in that Noone left the band in 1971, with a brief return in 1973; two other originals left by 1980; and since the 1994 death of original lead guitarist Derek Leckenby, the only remaining original member is drummer Barry Whitwam—at least in the version of the band that performs in the UK. However, Noone owns the band name in the US, and tours there as "Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone".
- Lyrical Dissonance: "I'm Henry VIII, I Am", which is about a guy who just married (obliviously) an apparent Black Widow with some very specific tastes in men.
- Miniscule Rocking: Of particular note is "I'm Henry VIII, I Am", which is 1:50 long. It is one of the shortest songs to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
- Nobody Loves the Bassist: In this case, Nobody Loves the Guitarist, as Derek "Lek" Leckenby was very put down as a guitarist during the years of their fame. It's only now that Lek is getting some love from critics and new fans as a very competent guitarist indeed.
- Older Than They Look: Peter's boyish good looks stayed around for years after his teen years and even now, he's pushing 80 but can easily pass for decades younger.

- Oop North: They were from Manchester, and Peter Noone didn't really try that hard to hide it.
- Silly Love Songs: The Hermits could rival the best of them in this department.
- Single Stanza Song: "I'm Henry VIII, I Am". Lampshaded within the song itself:Second verse, same as the first!
- Small Reference Pools: Outside of the fanbase, one might only know "I'm Into Something Good". You could also call it their
Signature Song.
