Christmas Epilogue

Go To

The final scene of a story happens at Christmas or at a Christmas party.

This is usually a Time Skip to show it's nearly the end of the year and things have settled down since the events of the main story to show and moved into a new status quo/Happily Ever After conclusion/"Where Are They Now?" Epilogue. Since Christmas takes place at the end of the year, it's easy to suggest that the end is the start of a new beginning. The visual presentation of Christmas decorations makes it easy to tell time has passed without putting exact numbers, and also because Christmas is stereotypically associated with family and togetherness. Did I Mention It's Christmas? may occur. A Christmas Episode may count if it acts as the Grand Finale.

A variant on this trope that may still qualify is when Christmas is used as Bookends to the beginning and ending of the film. Generally, most Christmas movies will not fall under this trope, but it's possible if the ending skips forward a full year.

As this is an Ending Trope, unmarked spoilers abound. You Have Been Warned.
