Westworld (Franchise)
A cautionary tale of technology.
Westworld is a franchise by Michael Crichton which is 20 Minutes into the Future where we see tales about people going to robot-filled amusement parks designed for adults with a variety of themes ranging from the future, Feudal Japan, The Middle Ages, Ancient Rome, and finally Westworld itself. Each establishment is designed with its own robot population with the perks provided by Delos including that one can fight the robots, makeout with them, and even take them out. They are programmed not to harm people or attack them. On top of this, visitors can use weapons designed to only attack the machines. As visitors tour the parks, technical problems usually begin to arise such as robots breaking apart frequently, refusing attempts at erasing their memories, disobeying the visitors, etc. When the robots go rogue, the whole experience turns the establishment into an Amusement Park of Doom where the visitors try to escape from death.

The Westworld franchise has spawned numerous media following the film, such as novels, video games, a movie sequel, a couple tv shows, and a planned remake of the film.
