Previews: Trailer 1

You're Cordially Invited to the union of these tropes:

  • Altar the Speed: The reason Neve and Dixon are trying to get married is because the former is already a few months pregnant, needing her sister Margot to not only expedite the wedding, but also hide the bump. Wholesomely Averted as when Neve announces she was pregnant before being married to Dixon, the family welcomes the fact they were going to meet the baby soon.
  • Darkest Hour: Jim's antics inadvertedly get Jenni to break up with Oliver.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Margot initially thinks that Oliver, Jenni's husband, was kissing one of the bridesmaids who then relays the situation to Jim, who then informs his own daughter with a very shaky "I saw him cheat." What ensues right after is the third act of the film.
  • Not Quite Dead:
    • One show Margot produces is a game show called "Is It Dead?" about determining if something is dead.
    • Margot finds Jim holding a dead alligator in the hotel room he intended to use… and points out it isn’t actually dead.
  • Repurposed Pop Song: The trailer is set to L.O.V.E. by Frank Sinatra.
  • Stylistic Suck: The reality shows Margot produces are shown to be stupid, including a Masked Singer knockoff, one about guessing if things are dead, and a House Plant-based show.
  • Worst Wedding Ever: The trailer presents two crappy weddings for the price of one when the venue gets double booked, members of each wedding comedy feud, and the dock where the weddings are being held collapses mid-ceremonies!
