Sofía Margarita Vergara Vergara (born July 10, 1972 in Barranquilla, Colombia) is a Colombian-American actress, comedienne, television host, and model.
Vergara first became widely known for co-hosting two television shows for the Spanish-language television network Univision in the late 1990s. Her first notable acting job in English was in the 2003 film Chasing Papi. Subsequently, she appeared in two Tyler Perry films, Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009), receiving an ALMA Award nomination for the latter. Vergara's success on television has led to roles in other films such as The Smurfs (2011), New Year's Eve (2011), Happy Feet Two (2011) The Three Stooges: The Movie (2012), and Escape from Planet Earth (2013).
In 2012 and 2013, she was one of the top-earning actors on US television. She costarred on the ABC sitcom Modern Family as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, and earned nominations for three Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In 2020, she joined the judging panel on America's Got Talent, and became quite popular with that show's audience.
In 2024 she played the starring role in the Netflix miniseries Griselda, about the Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, for which she earned a lot of critical praise and award nominations, including at the Emmys and Golden Globes.
Vergara married actor Joe Manganiello in 2015 but they divorced in 2024.

- Repetitive Name: "Vergara Vergara" comes from Hispanic naming conventions and her parents' families both having the last name "Vergara".
- Spicy Latina: Often her roles fit the beautiful Hispanic lady, with the fiery temper.
