What a surprise. That's the distinct page of an actor!
Ray Chaifetz (born May 20, 1987 in Freehold Borough, New Jersey), better known by his stage name Ray Chase, is an American voice actor who primarily works in Los Angeles. He has gotten a lot of recognition in recent years with his role as Noctis Lucis Caelum in Final Fantasy XV. He's often cast as young and handsome men, yet they have a very sarcastic personality at the same time.
He's also part of the Loud, Annoying, and Very Annoying
voice acting trio with Max Mittelman and Robbie Daymond, as well as a co-founder of Sassy Chap Games along with Mittelman, Daymond, and Amanda Hufford.
He's currently engaged to fellow voice actor Julia McIlvaine (best known for voicing June in KaBlam!).

To me, my associated tropes:
- Deadpan Snarker: The defining trope for many of his characters. Noctis and Yukiatsu are well known examples.
- Fake Brit: As L.
- Large Ham:
- He gives Roy a very blood-curdling scream when he's Star KO'd in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- Whenever Sukuna goes full bore Evil Is Hammy, he gives Jun'ichi Suwabe's already scenery-chewing performance a run for its money as he roars his lines at the top of his lungs and cackles like a unhinged madman.
- As Metal Overlord in Shadow Generations, he cranks the ham factor up to eleven as the megalomaniacal Mechanical Abomination.
- He's the only voice actor of Neuvilette who gives him a louder, more guttural battle cry.

- Man of a Thousand Voices: Possesses a brilliant and wide range of voices, even though he performs a lot of rather masculine types. He can go from young and sarcastic men to older and distinguished fellows, and even roles you'd never expect him to tackle such as Artorius Collbrande or Roswaal. Just look at his "special" 2021 character demo
. - Playing Against Type: Has a few examples:
- Ray, much like Liam O'Brien, is no stranger to voicing villains such as Dr. Genus, Cinder, Artorius Collbrande, and Cayenne. However, Howzer in The Seven Deadly Sins is a different kind of "villain" who's so honorable that you can hardly call him evil.note
- He also voiced two flamboyant characters, Duncan in D4 and Puri-Puri Prisoner in One-Punch Man, the later happens to be a Manly Gay superhero.
- In the Atelier Series, Ray's voiced two characters with different personalities. Solle Grumman is a Deadpan Snarker who can be unpleasant if you get on his wrong side, something that fits into Ray's typecasting. Harry Olson, by contrast, is a selfless businessman who risked bankrupting himself in order to save a village from starvation.
- For those who are familiar with Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, Roy is a kind, selfless, young lord who's so polite that in many of his support conversations, he's one of the few main lords in the series not to make any snarky remarks. Not only that, Ray's performance made Roy sound a bit older and more mature than his Japanese voice actor's more boyish take on the character, which adds
Fridge Brilliance since Roy is known to be very mature and insightful for a young lord at his age. - Susanoo, in contrast to most of his other villain roles, who are either small time or are more misguided than outright villainous, is an ambitious Destroyer Deity who seeks to become a Multiversal Conqueror. Likewise, Sukuna is a bloodthirsty Card-Carrying Villain who proudly delights in being a sadistic monster and revels in wreaking destructive havoc to his heart's content.
- The Strangler sticks out like a sore thumb compared to all his other roles to date. He's an utterly insane old man with an unstoppable desire to stab teenagers' eyes out and doesn't make any sound other than crazed laughter.
- Promoted Fanboy:
- Before portraying Noctis in Final Fantasy XV, he had played Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VIII.
- He's a fan of Super Smash Bros. Melee and was very happy to give Roy (who made his debut in that game) his English voice in Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- He was a huge Neon Genesis Evangelion fan growing up and stated that playing Gendo was an interesting role.
- He was also already a huge fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure when he played minor roles in both Battle Tendency (as Donobang and Loggs) and Stardust Crusaders (as Rubber Soul). However, playing a major role in Golden Wind as Bruno Bucciarati was described as a dream come true for him.
- Star-Making Role: On the anime side of things, his roles as Howzer from The Seven Deadly Sins, Hanzo and Geretta from Hunter × Hunter, Yuu Otosaka from Charlotte, and Dr. Genus and Puri-Puri Prisoner from One-Punch Man. On the video game side of things, his roles as L from Xenoblade Chronicles X, Cinder from Killer Instinct, and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV.
