Tropes associated with her work
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: She has very pale skin and dark-brown hair and often plays Ax-Crazy characters, including Susan "Sadie" Atkins in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and Amber Freeman in Scream (2022).
- Kill It with Fire: Both of her antagonist characters in Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and Scream (2022) end up being set on fire by the protagonists. Though in the case of Amber Freeman in the latter film, Gale didn't mean to set her on fire, only shoot her.
- Large Ham: She's played several characters that can be very theatrical and over the top when they get going.
- Mean Character, Nice Actor: She is mostly known for playing loud, outgoing characters that range from hot-tempered at best (the eponymous protagonist of Anora) to psychotic at worst (her roles in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Scream (2022)). Interviews of her in Real Life make her out to be much more sweet and soft-spoken.
- Reclusive Artist: Despite being more than happy to do interviews, she is one of the few prominent Gen Z actors to have no social media accounts, and most fans and reporters didn't know much of her background or personal life, or even her full name, until she started getting more publicity after Anora began making waves across the 2024 awards season.
- What Could Have Been: In Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, her character Susan Atkins was supposed to fill the role of the character Pussycat, played by Margaret Qualley, who hitches a ride to Spahn Ranch with Cliff Booth, but her schedule on Better Things proved impossible to work around for the time she needed. Tarantino was so determined not to lose her that he split the role into two characters.
