Truman

- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: His only article of clothing is a pair of glasses.
- Blue Is Heroic: He's blue and the main protagonist of the show.
- Blue Means Smart One: As the unofficial leader of the group, before and after he tells his stories, he shares good morals with them, such as "The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence", and "What goes up must come down".
- Orange/Blue Contrast: He is a blue dinosaur with an orange hair tuft.
- Smart People Wear Glasses: He wears a pair of glasses and is the de-facto leader of the Dino Babies who tells stories to them.
- The Storyteller: He tells his friends a number of stories that are based on fairy tales.
- Tuft of Head Fur: He has a tuft of orange head fur on his head.
LaBrea
- Voiced by: Andrea Libman
- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Her only article of clothing is a bone that she wears like a hairbow.
- Catchphrase: "I told you so!" (whenever something goes wrong) and "Would you evolve?" (whenever someone suggests something silly).
- Furry Female Mane: She has human-like hair to emphasize the fact that she is the only female.
- Non-Mammalian Hair: She is a dinosaur with feminine hair on her head.
- The Smurfette Principle: She is the only female member of the Dino Babies.
- Yellow/Purple Contrast: She is a purple dinosaur with blonde hair.
Stanley
- Voiced by: Matt Hill
- Red/Green Contrast: He is a green baby dinosaur with red spots.
- Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The brave manly man to Franklin's timid and hesitant sensitive guy.
- Thrill Seeker: He's the bravest member of the Dino Babies.
Franklin
- Voiced by: Sarah Strange
- Big Brother Instinct: As Marshall's older brother, he does care for his health and well-being.
- Cowardly Sidekick: He's quite the coward, but he is one of the main characters.
- Lovable Coward: He is extremely timid, but he does care for his friends and little brother.
- Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The timid and hesitant sensitive guy to Stanley's brave manly man.
Marshall
- Voiced by: Samuel Vincent
- The Baby of the Bunch: By far the youngest member of the Dino Babies.
- Cheerful Child: He is a very energetic child who always wants to take part in whatever activities his friends are doing.
- Red Is Heroic: A baby red dinosaur who is one of the main characters.
Dak
- Voiced by: Scott McNeil
- The Bully: He makes fun of the other Dino Babies, which is why, in Truman's stories, he's usually portrayed as the villain.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While he does pick on the other Dino Babies a lot, he does have his moments where he helps them.
- A Lizard Named "Liz": A Pterodactyl named "Dak".
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Downplayed. Even though he does have red eyes, he's not malicious, just a bit of a jerk.
- Terror-dactyl: He's the meanest of the characters and has an unsettling appearance, especially his red eyes.
