- Pretty much all of the music for The Ur-Quan Masters — largely based on Star Control II's 3DO version — is awesome. There are distinct themes for travel through normal space, hyperspace
, and quasi-space, for battles, and each alien race has its own theme music as well. Pretty much all of these tunes are catchy and enjoyable, and have that wonderful pulpy sci-fi feel to them, with lots of well-used synth bits and drum beats.- The battle theme has a typical Red Alert klaxon integrated into the tune, and it works quite well.
- The Slylandro Probes' theme song is composed mostly of the phrase "We Come in Peace" repeated over and over again at different pitches and volumes, and sometimes backwards. It actually works well as a song. It's also a filthy lie, with the chaos of the song instead foreshadowing the murderous insanity of the probes' programming.
- The 3DO Quasi-Space theme is genuinely spooky, with bits of it sounding like the screams or yells of some Eldritch Abomination — which is appropriate, considering all the warnings you get about what dwells in Quasi-Space...
- The battle theme
- For all its consideration as a poor follow-up to Star Control II, one of the exploration themes of Star Control 3 is also relaxing and appropriate for a star-studded sky.
