SPIE Leadership and Guiding Principles

SPIE is the international society for optics and photonics. We've operated as a not-for-profit since our founding in 1955, connecting, engaging, and serving our global constituency of engineers, scientists, students, and industry leaders. We are led by a dedicated team of volunteers — including a Board of Directors, multiple committees, conference chairs, and journal editors — with the mission of partnering with researchers, educators, and industry to advance light-based research and technologies for the betterment of the human condition. Operations are directed from our headquarters in Bellingham, Washington, USA.
