Full story[]

The Simpson family is driving on the way to Aztec Theater to see the last movie what Marge saw when Bart pointed out that they were going to watch that movie for free on the stream and therefore, Homer drives back home. Three days later, they are about to see the movie on the TV, but the stream plays countless weird ads, including skin care products. They kept laughing for a while until Marge eventually unplugged the TV to bring out a box of DVDs.

While Marge and Lisa are watching Keagan's Pond, Homer and Bart are watching the show titled Clincher, with a more masculine vibe. When the first season was over, Marge and Lisa went to the attic to see a more season. Marge notices an outfit she wore and suggests Lisa try wearing it to school the next day. Lisa got dressed, but when she asked Marge if anyone had noticed her, Marge said no one had, which was the exact opposite of what actually happened. Lisa got on the school bus, as everyone was looking at her wearing a dress. While Marge is doing chores at home, she notices Lisa isn't wearing her usual dress, which is common for her. Panicked, she rushes to school to address the situation before it unfolds. Lisa arrived at the school, feeling the weight of everyone's stares, fully aware she was about to be judged by the most fashionable kids, Devin and Vidalia. Marge arrives to find Lisa being cheered on by the fashion club kids, who are impressed with her outfit.

Marge gives Lisa more old clothes, and at school, Devin and Vidalia invite Lisa to join the fashion club and go thrifting with them. Meanwhile, at the power plant, Homer is watching Clincher, and soon everyone else gathers to watch the show, even as their coworker Smitty suffers life-threatening injuries. Marge invites Lisa to join Nostali-Con at Springfield Convention Center the same day, as Lisa agreed it, and Lisa grabs her money to shop at the thrift store with the fashion club. However, Lisa is unable to afford it due to being too expensive of price tag, but instead, Lisa invites them to meet there. Marge heads to the Springfield Convention Center for Keagan's Pond to meet S.G.E. However, Marge waited for Lisa for too long, as Lisa was supposed to be there, much to Marge getting angry at her and returning home. They were joined by Lisa, who brought the fashion club to her house to check out Marge's clothes. When Marge arrives home, she becomes upset with everyone for cutting the clothes and forbids the kids from using them.

At school, the fashion club decides not to hold what Marge did to her and invites her to the Wiggum house to steal clothes, where they end up playing with Ralph. Vidalia and Devin check on Terri as she sorts through their old clothes and then lets Lisa know it's time to leave. Outside, Lisa finds out that Sarah's old clothes were taken from the attic. With a little encouragement from the other fashion kids, she finally agrees that the plan to save the clothes from the clutches of Big Thrift is a solid idea. When Skinner announces the upcoming mother-son dance, it creates the perfect opportunity to steal all the clothes in one go.

In order to distract the fathers, Lisa changes their TVs to Clincher with a universal remote control to proceed them stealing their old clothes from the attic. When Marge forces Bart to dance with her, the plan is set into motion. However, Bart slips out of her grasp, and Marge discovers their plan written on a whiteboard. At the Prince house, their plan went wrong because there was no TV to distract them, and Gareth Prince activated the alarm system to alert the police, asking intruders leave. The other kids leave the house, but Lisa delays replacing the shirt she ruined for Marge and ends up getting trapped in the attic until Marge eventually comes to rescue her.

They reconcile, and Marge reveals that she used the "A Mother Always Knows" app on her phone to track her down. Meanwhile, Bart is dancing with Luann, much to Milhouse annoyed. Homer handles the police officers using the Clincher style, but it turns out he simply shows them the show instead of actually behaving like Clincher. In conclusion, Vidalia praises Lisa on her timeless dress, while Devin rejects the suggestion of watching Keagan's Pond together. Marge informs the Fashion Club to return all the clothes by the end of day except the ones Lisa picked for her.

Behind the Laughter[]

The episode received some attention for a line that implied Dewey Largo had passed away. Devin mentions that the fashion club took over the music room after Mr. Largo died, before adding that Mr. Largo might have also had jury duty or "something dumb." It was compared to an episode like "Cremains of the Day" where another character had unexpectedly passed away, but the episode producers clarified the situation by responding "no" when asked if Mr. Largo really did pass away.[1]
