WrestleMania III was the third yearly WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view event made by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The event was held on March 29, 1987 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.[2]

WWE said the attendance was 93,173,[2][3][4] Though differing numbers have been argued, the event is considered to be the pinnacle of the 1980s wrestling boom.[2][5][6] Almost one million fans watched the event at 160 closed circuit locations in North America.[2] The number of people watching via pay-per-view was estimated at several million,[2] and pay-per-view revenues were estimated at $10 million.[7] however it was later revealed to be about 78,000.[1]
