Transmit Security is a private software and cybersecurity company based in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was founded in 2014 by Mickey Boodaei and Rakesh Loonkar.[3] The company makes software that helps people log in to websites and apps in a safer way, often without using passwords.[4]
History
[change | change source]Transmit Security was founded in 2014 by Mickey Boodaei and Rakesh Loonkar. Before this, they also helped start the company Trusteer, which was later bought by IBM in 2013.[5]
In 2021, Transmit Security raised 543 million US dollars from investors in its first large funding round. News reports said this was one of the largest funding rounds for a cybersecurity company.[6][7] In the same year, the company joined the board of the FIDO Alliance, a group that works on secure login standards.[8]
Products
[change | change source]Transmit Security develops software for secure user login, password-free authentication, and identity management for workers. Its main product is called BindID, which uses biometrics, such as a phone or fingerprint, instead of passwords.[1][9]
