Jani Nyman (born 30 July 2004) is a Finnish professional ice hockey right winger. He currently plays for the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the American Hockey League (AHL). Outside of the NHL, Nyman has also played for Ilves of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
Career
[change | change source]Before playing in the NHL, Nyman played three seasons with Ilves of the Liiga.
He was drafted 49th overall by the Seattle Kraken in the 2022 NHL entry draft. On July 24, 2014, Nyman signed a three-year, $9.4 million entry-level contract to join the Predators.[1] He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Coachella Valley Firebirds.
On 31 March 2018, Nyman made his NHL debut in a 5–4 overtime win against the Montreal Canadiens. During the second period, he scored his first NHL goal against Jakub Dobeš.[2] He played in 12 regular season games before being sent back down to the Firebirds.
