Gary is a city in the state of Indiana, in the Midwestern United States. Gary is known for its steel mills and for being the birthplace of singer Michael Jackson and former astronaut Frank Borman.
The population of Gary is less than 70,000.[1] This is under half what it was in 1960. Industry has been reduced a lot since the 1960s. Most of the city's middle-class and white people moved away. It is now 75% African-American.
Gary has a humid continental climate (Dfa in the Köppen climate classification).
