Disappointed 😞. I did not care for the past and present scenes. Too distracting to comprehend and keep with the storyline. Jamie Lee Curtis character obnoxious and way to much smoking throughout the movie.

Absolutely terrible!!! I have read every Scarpetta book and enjoyed them all. Why O Why would Ms Cornwell allow her character to be so abused and miscast???? I had really high hopes for the series but I will not finish the series. BOO HOO for me.!!!!

Absolute claptrap. Awful! Jamie Lee Curtis is overacting so badly, and is so loud. I was looking forward to this for a long time, and thought with such an awesome cast it would be brilliant. How wrong can you be?

Series might work for you if you've never read Patricia Cornwell's books. If you have read the books, the series really misses the mark in so many ways.
Clearly, no one from Casting read the books. Five-foot eleven-inch Nicole to represent the petite Dr. Scarpetta? Poor physical choices all the way around. British and Australian accents. Lucy an African American? She is Italian and "of enigmatic Latin descent," with green eyes.
Series is laced with gratuitous profanity and sex, unlike the books. The two timelines and the filler make the murder investigation very hard to follow. This series is such a departure from Patricia Cornwell's books, it's very disappointing.

I am a big fan of Scarpetta and have read all the books. If you have read the books, it is disarming to hear there was a cover up and lie from the beginning. We all thougt Kay had class and scruples and to find out she has a big lie from book one is very incongruent.
And as much as it's fun to see how outrageous Jamie Lee Curtis can be, the stories would better if
she did not have a spot light and provide a HUGE distraction from the reason we want to watch this series: Scarletta solving crimes.

What a disappointment! I love Patricia Cornwall's books and most of the main actors, but what a complete let down. 😭
Characters are miss cast, OVER acting and the constant "flash backs" are so irritating that you feel a serious need to switch off!
As another reviewer mentioned, way too much swearing and alcohol. The actual story gets completely lost. At this rate, not sure if I will bother if there is a season 2.
