They spend more on their military than the next 26 countries COMBINED, 25 of which are allies they have no reason to compete with.
They maintain a military presence in 148 different countries.
Their governments have a reputation for starting wars in other countries to keep the public's attention on the conflicts and not the politician's own scandals. (Viet Nam being an excellent example of how to fight a war for years while making no attempt whatsoever to WIN said war).

No, saying America stands for peace in any way, shape, or form requires a level of delusion only complete control over the media can create.

We're probably in the 11-20 rankings somewhere, at least for this particular year. Really, being anywhere near the top implies you're a pretty good place to live overall. The top slot is mainly for bragging rights. ;) (That said, those rights are still being earned, so go Switzerland! Yay! )

@MormonD East Asian countries only make the list on paper. You have to understand family dynamics and the use of daughters and wives as puppets to realize that East Asian gender equality is mostly a sham.

It's rarely such a linear thing.
For example, in japan, control of the family finances has been traditionally held in the wife's hands for centuries. A man goes out to make a living, comes home and hands over his paycheck to his wife, and she doles him out an allowance like one of the children. The husband may be in charge outside of the house, but no one questions for a second that the wife is the supreme authority inside of it.
Control over the money is a HUGE power factor in... well any sort of relation, really, gender-based or otherwise. I often wonder if part of the reason the Far East hasn't been in such a hurry to adopt western ideals of gender equality has been that they already have their own balance that works pretty well for them.

To those of you who have been affected by racism:

I am deeply sorry for what my race has done. I am not sure where the bias against non-whites began, but it was almost certainly thousands of years ago. The Roman Empire and their brutality, the Greeks with 'democracy' (only a very specific group of people could vote and slavery was encouraged), etc. were all contributors to the racism that is experienced today. Even the concept of Europe and Asia as separate continents results from the Greeks deciding that everything west of them was 'superior'.

Things got worse in the colonial era with the British, Dutch, Belgian, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Austrian-Hungarian empires. White people often glorify Winston Churchill, but what they don't know (or choose not to know) is that he was heavily biased against Indians, even going so far as diverting food from Bengal to Britain when a severe famine swept through the region, leading to four million deaths. That is not a good leader. That is genocide and it is abhorrent that white people ignore it.

I could literally go on forever about this. There are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of examples that demonstrate the inferiority of white people. There was the Nazi regime in Germany, genocide against Muslims in Yugoslavia, genocide against Native Americans during the colonial period, even the idiot who decided that there were five races and that whites were 'superior'. People believed him for centuries! The English enslaved the Aboriginal Australians, the Jutes enslaved the Celts, the Belgians enslaved the Congolese, the list goes on and on.

White people are clearly the scum of the Earth, and we continue to deny it and be racist towards people of other skin colors and religions. For this reason, I am ashamed to be one of them. If your ethnicity was oppressed by white people and was not mentioned above, I apologize. Please let me know.

Personaly I find quite stupid the idea that you would be responsible for the atrocities commited by others just because you happen to share similar skin colour...
What you may be responsible for though (if you really wish to atone for some sins you may have committed) is the suffering you are currently inflicting others, because white people tend to be on an upper scale in the social ladder, and that being up the social ladder usually means that you are stepping on others without even realizing it (well even if you do realize it it's not necessarily that easy to do something about it though)
