    WordPress Origin Story

    I have long wanted to write. For a while, in the mid-90s, I had a personal website where I wrote about CE Marking. That site was purely HTML, so maintenance was difficult at best. In 2007 I decided that I needed to start writing on topics within my engineering specialty, and I was also taking my consulting practice public. I had hard-coded an HTML website for my business, but for a blog, I needed a flexible platform that could support my creativity; WordPress was the obvious choice. I launched the blog early in 2008 and have been writing since!
