WordPress Origin Story

2006 – Created my first WordPress blog, since blogspot wouldn’t let me block my friends’ parents.
2008 – First paid WordPress project, a classmate with a phone refurb hustle who paid with a refurbished iPhone.
2011 – First time hiring and managing a WordPress project, for a university school I was launching.
2016 – I realized I prefer solving problems to describing them and pivoted from management to engineering.
2019 – My first code commit to WPGraphQL.
2024 – Graduated the WordPress Contributor Mentorship cohort as “All-star Mentee” in the, and first code contribution to WordPress core.
