Bio

Hey there! I’m Javier, and I’ve almost been a digital native since the dawn of the internet (okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but you get the point). I’ve been cruising the information superhighway since ’94, crafting websites since ’97, and I’ve been deeply involved with WordPress since 2005. So, I’ve seen some things!

These days, you’ll find me working behind the scenes on various WordPress projects, contributing where I’m needed, lending a hand when someone asks, and quietly pushing things forward from the shadows. I may not wear any official hats anymore, but I’m still very much around and involved.

Need to get in touch? Easy-peasy. Just shoot me an email at javier@casares.org. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Interests

Speaking of projects… check out the WordPress Vulnerability Database API (wpvulnerability.com) and the WordPress Podcast (wppodcast.org).

WordPress Origin Story

I tested WordPress 1.4, and started using WordPress 1.5 in 2005 when I had to move from my own self-developed CMS for publishing news and static pages. I imported my existing content via RSS into WordPress, and from that moment on, my involvement with WordPress has only kept growing.
