Frequently asked questions
Source codes help you determine where your supporters come from. When you add a source code to your campaign link, GoFundMe Pro tracks that data so you can understand which channels—like email, social media, or events—drive the most donations.
Use your first source code to track where people found your link (like facebook, email_newsletter, or event_signage).
Use your second source code to track which specific message or campaign inspired them (like giving_tuesday or spring_gala). Together, they help you determine what’s working and where to focus your next outreach.
Go to your Transaction History, then select Columns and add the fields for Source Code 1 and Source Code 2. You’ll have this data for each donation, helping you understand which channels and campaigns drove the most impact.
No problem, you can still learn where your supporters came from. In your Transaction History, add the Referrer column to learn the last page or site your supporter visited before donating.
UTM parameters are optional. They’re mainly used for tracking campaign performance in tools like Google Analytics. If you’re already using GoFundMe Pro's source codes, you’ll have plenty of insight without needing them.
Yes. After you create your custom link, open it in a new tab to make sure it loads your campaign as expected. Then share that link anywhere you promote your campaign.
