October 21, 2024: Aardman and Mattel have announced that they are working on a new Pingu TV series.
June 16, 2021: The 40th Anniversary DVD, The Best of PINGU has been released in Japan.

March 30, 2020: To commemorate Pingu's 40th Anniversary, a "Pingu" exhibition is set to take place at the Matsuya Ginza store in Japan, during the period 12-24 August, 2020. [1]
November 12, 2019: The "Pingu" series receives an official 40th Anniversary logo.

Masaya Matsuura, the producer of PaRappa the Rapper, composed the Japanese opening theme of Pingu.
